YE 43 i was a Yamataian Calendar year that began on Friday, January 1, 2021 and ended on Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Star Army's community voted to extend the OOC length of an in-character year to 1.5 IRL years and sync the OOC and IC years by months, where the in-universe month is advanced by 1 for every 2 OOC months. However after review this was reversed¹⁾, resulting the last 3 months of YE 43 being only a month of OOC time.

YE 43 saw the end of the Kuvexian War.

• YSS Resurgence is tasked with a survey of local space to see the effects of the war. During exploration of Ketsurui no Iori they have an encounter with Uesu's Fleet soldiers that briefly gets violent.
• YSS Resurgence and other ships conducted rescue missions to retrieve personnel and Yamataian citizens who had been left behind on Hanako's World.
• Rescue Ribbon created
• The YSS Kōun initiated contact with the neutral port of Sood Zadra.
• Finally home in Yamatai at Victory Day YE 43, members of YSS Kaiyō II celebrated the end of the long Kuvexian War that had taken them away from home for many years.

• Nepleslian Admiralty is invited to the planning phase for the battle of glimmergold. Most are ejected after Lysander Calloway and other lower-ranking officers express concerns about genocide to former empress Ketsurui Yui citing it as “Not the Nepleslian way”. Some, such as Violetta De Luca and Irene Barná return and commit their fleets to the battle of Glimmergold. No lasting damage is done to Nepleslia/Yamatai relations.

• Irene Barna is given brevet promotion to Grand Admiral of the 3rd Assault Fleet. Barna requests the system of Longwatch (Flarghrishimmi) as the home-base for her fleet and requisitions addition ships, resources, and supplies. She is given most of what she requested.

• Ryan Veles returns to active duty as the leader of the IPG and the Black Fleet.

• Local and governemnt hired mercenaries clash in the Svodog system.

• Lysander Calloway is promoted to Grand Admiral of the NSN 4th Fleet. Calloway immedietly seizes the Big Green Starbase and is sanctioned by the senate as a result.

• The NSS Surprise initiated contact with the neutral port of Sood Zadra.

• The NDC participates in the Battle of Glimmergold on the allied side, losing more than half of its committed forces in the process.

• Neera Pine ascends to the throne and succeeds her adoptive father, the late lord Jack Pine, and swiftly implements a reorganization of the government.

• The NDS Ravenaca's Watch, first of the Spectre-class Stealth Cruisers to leave drydock, is deployed on a training exercise in the Sanctum and engages pirates and a mysterious threat in the asteroid belt of the system.

• The NDC begins to venture further afield with its colonization projects, constructing the Island-class vessel to this end.
