He took an interest in the recently independent Nepleslian Star Empire1) and made a massive investment in its economy. The successful launch of products like the EM-M1 Enforcer Powersuit, a line of pharmaceuticals, clothing, education2) and even several restaurants on Yamatai (Planet)3) was the start of multiple establishments of Emrys into the markets of the Kikyo Sector. Emrys would even invest in establishing their business in the Ayenee4) universe.
Apesael Emrys, the son of Seru Emrys didn't support his family's investment in their corporation, he also notably discussed that he refused to buy anything from Emrys at all while attending a dinner with an associate on the YSS Destiny the same year the company had ascended in the markets. He became the assistant to Tanjo Shen, the CEO of NovaCorp5), which was notably a competitor for the rising Emrys businesses.
Later that year, Seru Emrys traveled to Planet Nepleslia to meet with Sky Marshall Robert Davis to discuss the company's interests in the Nepleslian Empire. They discussed in-depth the use of Emrys drugs to disrupt the business of crime lords on Planet Nepleslia6).

The company also established a relationship with the Lorath Matriarchy that year, but the deal almost fell through due to the Lorath Matriarchy requesting the construction manuals for the products they purchased. The deal was successful though after it was agreed upon that the manuals would not be provided9).
Emrys Industries would go on to contribute a vast number of products to the market, which made it a successful player among the larger corporations in the Kikyo Sector.
