Skipping down the halls on the very tips of her toes, the chocolate-skinned Miyako is an energetic and lively Type 33A Nekovalkyrja who stands just under six feet tall. She has a more physically stout and filled out appearance than her contemporaries, even for a 33A. Her hips and shoulders alike are broad, she is well-muscled, and yet in spite of that she uses her innate abilities to seemingly skip and glide about as she walks most of the time. Her complexion is as dark as chocolate with no noticeable marks or scars to be seen, with only a small mess of freckles across the top of her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Her raven black hair is kept styled in a tousled fashion down below her shoulders, with fur of a matching color on her cat-like ears.

Of course her being so young means that her 'preferred outfits' are rather predictable. She doesn't own very much in the way of personal clothing that doesn't have some sort of unit patch, camouflage, or teal-colored panels. So her preferred 'dress' is the Type 30C uniform, with the appropriate trousers in place of the skirt many other women seem to prefer. Her personal accessory comes in the form of wrap-around sunglasses with metallic colored frames that are so often over her dark gold eyes - which seem to be perpetually squinting as she smiles.

In the realm of distinguishing features: an observant inspector would be able to find a manufacturing order and serial number permanently tattooed on the bottom of her right foot. The two numbers mark out a significant portion of her creation if input into the appropriate areas of the Ketsurui Zaibatsu archives. She doesn't have any other sorts of tattoos, scars, or other marks to make her stand out from her contemporaries.

Miyako, or 'Miya' as she insists her friends (and everyone else) call her, is a lively child who loves life. She's energetic and happy at seemingly all times, literally skipping on her toes whenever decorum allows it (and sometimes when it probably doesn't), and often humming whatever musical number is stuck in her head. Of course she's also young enough that her profession as a medic is still a great, driving passion for her that occupies much of her time: keeping armfuls of datapads containing patient information and often spending much of her time in the nearest medical bay when duties or other obligations do not call her elsewhere. She'd likely sleep there if the mere suggestion hadn't been shot down early on in her training.

She is a workaholic who tries at the same time to give her own flair and fun to her work. It shows in her more congenial and warm bedside manner, the almost motherly way she will dote on her charges wherever it is she happens to be stationed, and the small touches like suckers she keeps around as something sweet in the medical bay for her patients. In the realm of academics she has the advantage of her race to help her store compendiums of some of the most advanced and complicated medical procedures and treatments that a Star Army medic is expected to know and holds it as a point of pride that she has been entrusted to put such knowledge to use in helping others.

In the realm of personal relationships, she is lacking in experience beyond the socialization all 'made' Neko undergo early on in their lives and that provided by her months of medical training. She's about as comfortable handling physical and romantic attraction as she is with calculating mathematical theorem for interstellar travel: that's not what she's trained for and if she tries then somebody will very likely end up getting hurt before it's all over. She's had little to no experience in such relationships and has honestly never made an attempt to change that as of yet. Though some have been confused or misled by a bubbly, friendly personality with very little regard for the concept of personal space.

Maki Miyako was made in YE 37, in the labs of Ketsurui Zaibatsu.

For Miyako, one early morning in YE 37 she was brought into existence, and in almost the blink of an eye chemical processes began that would form the very beginnings of her physical form and life. If she had possessed the faculties to fully realize what had occurred in that moment then it surely would have been an amazing and breathtaking experience. Possibly one that would have left her boggled and stunned for a great while.

To the sleep-deprived and underpaid intern who came in to check on her that day, it was just another idle Tuesday.

But a glorious and mind-boggling Tuesday! For some, anyways.

Her creation wasn't in any way non-standard or unique save for her being crafted as Type 33A as opposed to a more traditional Type 33 for ship-board personnel. The logic behind the production would be that she could function as an away team's medic and use her supplemental abilities to enable her to keep up with the purpose-trained infantry with whom she would be fighting alongside on away-teams. This meant that even among some of her peers in the early days after she left the hemosynth tank she noticeably filled out and grew stronger than the average. This quickly made her popular among the many others who she called her friends as a sort of visual focal-point in classes and during their free periods.

She was a social butterfly, but cliques weren't very pronounced in the rather uniform structure of a newly 'born' group of Neko so that wasn't very significant in the early days. In medical training it came to help after academic learning was done and she was transitioned to the months and months of hands-on experience and training. She could flit about from patient to patient and act as an empathetic ear and caring hand with barely a breath between each transition. This served to help her record alongside the notes of her practical performance using what she had learned to quickly accelerate to the top of her course-work and clinicals very early on. Though some of the more traditionalist instructors remarked that they worried some day it would lead to her coming to close to one of her patients and cause her to make an error of some kind at a crucial moment.

A close to a year of hands-on training and experience meant that she wouldn't come to her first posting entirely fresh-faced. She would quickly come to learn the downsides of the medical professions - late nights with little or no sleep, incorrigible patients who seemed determined to make the staff's jobs harder than they already were, and of course the worst one of all: sometimes you can make all the right calls at exactly the right time and still lose the patient. But of course she was still young and hopeful enough to keep an energetic and happy disposition in spite of it all for when she finally graduated training and was assigned to her duty station.
