PAINT, the Publicly Accessible Interstellar Network for Transportation, is a network of passenger starliners operated by the Yamatai Star Empire and its allies. It offers flights to worlds across known space. It was started in YE 36. It is jointly operated by both public and private companies, and in some cases, the military. PAINT's purpose is to allow everyday citizens who do not own spacecraft a consistent, affordable way to get from place to place.

NOTE: Service has been suspended to any planet or territory conquered by Kuvexians.

The following carriers provide transportation services:

1. Star Army of Yamatai - Yamatai's military stepped in to provide transportation until private companies come along. The Star Army is currently charging a flat rate of 100 KS per flight or 200 for a round-trip ticket.
2. Tamahagane Corporation - the corporation chose to expand its employee transit capacity to allow paying passengers to travel. Corporate personnel and their families travel for free, other passengers pay 100 KS for one way trip, 175 for round trip.
3. Yugumo Corporation - the Jiyuuian local government offers subsidies through this company on airfares in order to keep them affordable for the average refugee of modest means, and thereby encourage re-population through travel. One way trips are 75 KS, while round trips are 140 KS.

Below, you can find lists of available flights, organized by major transportation hub systems.

Yamatai is the original “hub” system of the PAINT network. The orbital station Amatsu-Yamatai serves as a regional transportation center and is connected by an orbital elevator to the surface at Teisenjou. From there, transportation is available to the rest of Yamatai.

These flights originate in the Yamatai Star System and run once every two hours. All of the following flights also offer return flights.

Established in late YE 37, this new, eastern “hub” system of the PAINT network operates out of a reserved section of the sprawling Jiyuu Fleet Depot spaceport using a fleet of salvaged former Yugumo Cluster Civilian Transportation Authority (YCCTA) StarChaser II Class Civilian Ferry craft. It serves as a port of entry mainly for refugee populations returning to the former UOC core worlds of the Yugumo Cluster, however business commuter travel has picked up recently as commercial activity improves and the main spacelanes become safer due to regular patrols by First Expeditionary Fleet.

In YE 42 the Yugumo Corporation made heavy investments into their PAINT services by adding the Starchaser III-Class Ferry to their fleet.

In YE 45, the Yugumo Corporation extended their PAINT services to the Sharie System in the Kosuke Sector. Due to the Third Mishhuvurthyar War these ships are escorted by a pair of Yugumo Merchant Spacy operated Yūgure-class Merchant Destroyer.
