The Kosuke Sector, a recently discovered region of the Kagami Galaxy, lies to the galactic east of the Kikyo Sector. Its first exploration occurred in YE 44, when long-range probes were deployed by the Yugumo Corporation.

Shortly after the Kosuke Sector's discovery in YE 44, the Yugumo Corporation began formulating plans to send an expedition with the aim of expanding its influence into the newly discovered territory. Initially, the mission was purely theoretical, but it received an unexpected green light when Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko resigned as Imperial Premier and rejoined the Star Army of Yamatai.

What began as a Yugumo Corporation initiative soon expanded into the Colonization Initiative Alliance fleet. This fleet included not only ships from the corporation but also resources and vessels from allied factions, such as the Mining Guild. Later, the Iron Company and Ryu Keiretsu were invited and joined the mission as well. The entire Fifth Expeditionary Fleet, and a single battle group from the First Expeditionary Fleet representing the Star Army of Yamatai joined as the protective force over the newly formed fleet which still had a majority representation by the Yamatai Star Empire.

The Departure Of The Combined Colony Fleet in YE 45 took the first colonists and personnel that would become the backbone of new colonies in the sector. The first star system which was mapped and bore the flag of the Yamatai Star Empire was the Sharie System. The system was followed by the mapping and discovery of YC-04-Proclycon System and YC05-Gyōkai System.

The Becurn System would also be discovered by the ISS Shiori in YE 45, it was an independent system and home to the Cemlae and the Mocaidins which had been transplanted there by the War Masters of Illion.

The Kosuke Sector is approximately 300 LY in its expanse, divided into 30 10LY sectors. The distance from Jiyuu III to the Sharie System is approximately 30 hours at the standard of 0.50 ly/m Hyperspace Travel.

The Yamatai Star Empire has established connections through PAINT to the Sharie System from both Amatsu-Yamatai and Kumo no Kagayaki Station. It requires a starship capable of Hyperspace Travel to reach the sector.

The Kosuke Sector is suspected to have a diversity of species represented, some of the major ones are:

• Cemlae
• Mocaidins
• Illionite
• Mishhuvurthyar
• The diverse species represented in the Colonization Initiative Alliance fleet.
• Norian from the United Norian Imperium.

• The War Masters of Illion are working in cooperation with the Sfrarabla Mishhuvurthyar Nougpift in the slave trade.
• The War Masters of Illion have several cloaked stations in the Becurn System from which they view the war between the Cemlae andMocaidins as a form of entertainment.
• The Fifth Expeditionary Fleet has a base similar to Nemesis Bastion somewhere in the sector.
