Kenshin Chikai is a man who served in the UOC under horrible conditions, he is now a member of the Scientific Studies Service (SSS) serving on Journeymen 3. He is trying to rebuild his life.

Build and Skin Color: Chikai has a well muscled tone, one traditionally considered a runners physique. Chikai has a Asian skin tone.

Facial Features and Eye Color: Chikai has very angular features, a strong jawline, prominent cheekbones and a narrow nose combined with his narrow set almond shaped eyes. He has thin dark eyebrows, and bright blue eyes.

Hair Color and Style: Chikai has dirty blond hair that reaches to the bottom of his shoulder blades. When Chikai is on duty he keeps it in a braid.

Personality: Chikai has an inquiring mind and enjoys challenges. He is generally an outgoing person and slow to anger. After his time on Sairen 2 he has occasional nightmares about the experience. He is also more protective of those he cares for.

Likes: Visiting new worlds, exploring buildings, playing cards, rice pudding, fresh fruit, and trance music, Alice Mason.

Dislikes: Nepleslian, Mishhuvurthyar, rations, war.

Goals: Hopes to put the war behind him, and build a life, perhaps find a wife and have a family one day.

Chikai was born a Human in the year YE 10, on Yamatai (Planet). He was raised as an only child by his parents. His father was a designer. Chikai was an athletic student, specializing in track. He would go with his father to visit sites where his designs were being built. This is where Chikai got his interest for designing things.

In YE 27 he transferred to a NH-22C Yamataian body. He graduated early in YE 28 he wanted to go with his father to Taiie, but instead his father insisted that he start attending Engineering school.

In YE 28 his father went to Taiie to help with building the colony. When the colony was destroyed in YE 29 he was killed as well. Chikai did his best to help console his mother.

In YE 30 when the United Outer Colonies was created Ume moved from Yamatai (Planet) to Jiyuu System.

Chikai left college in YE 31 and was reunited with his mother. Shortly after that he chose to enlist in the United Outer Colonies Peacekeeping Forces as a means to complete his training.

Shortly after Chikai arrived at his first duty assignment. His life was to be changed forever. While he was helping to repair the UCS Zenpyou, Mayer Station was attacked and overrun by the NMX. Their ship was infested by parasites and communications with the station were completely garbled. They were driven out of their ship, with their commander grievously injured. They donned power armors and made their way into the station to try and hookup with other Peacekeepers.

Chikai and his comrades were able to hookup with other survivors of the initial assault and established a base of operation deep inside the station. Cut off from their government, they wages a guerrilla war campaign against the occupying NMX. For more than two years, they survived doing what they could to protect the civilians they rescued and strike at the enemy.

Finally at the close of YE 33, the YSS Aeon arrived to investigate the situation and attempt to make contact. The Peacekeepers having been deceived by the NMX in captured SAOY gear, took a wait and see approach despite getting request for contact. It was only after watching the SAOY away team fight a number of NMX that he and his fellow Peacekeepers chose to make contact. Seeing this as their last chance to get off the planet and to some place safe.

After making contact with the SAOY, they boarded the Zenpyou. Chikai restored the primary systems so that his friend Roken Techard could fly the ship out and up to rendezvous with the YSS Aeon. Once they were clear of the station, he programmed the reactors to overload completly destroying Mayer Station. After that he had a discussion with Alice Mason about the future.

After arriving at the Veronica Chikai turned in his Peacekeeper equipment, and after being cleared by medical chose to go to the surface of Ronica (Planet). There he investigated a number of opportunities, he spoke to Alice about the Scientific Studies Service (SSS). He told her it was his intention to join the civilian organization, and see the frontier.

He traveled with Alice to Daichi to enlist with the SSS and receive his training with them. While there Chikai decided to upgrade to the Minkan body type.

After completing orientation, he was then assigned to a team of specialists called the Journeymen 3.

Chikai is familiar with the provisions of the Peacekeeper Charter of YE 30 and is familiar with the basic skills of negotiating, first contact, and psychology.

Chikai received intensive hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling opponents) and has followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. The character is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance. The Chikai is also able to pilot power armors.

Like all Peacekeepers Chikai knows how to diagnose and treat minor conditions, apply first aid and emergency care (CPR, etc), and perform field surgery in emergency situations.

Chikai is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other people through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Chikai is fluent in Yamataigo (邪馬台語) and Trade (language). He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. He is also proficient in Telepathy.

Chikai is capable of operating any computer system in use by the United Outer Colonies Peacekeeping Forces. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information. After leaving the UOC, Chikai was training in using equipment based on the Kessaku Systems OS.

Chikai is a long distance runner. In school he ran for competitions, now he runs to keep in top shape, and as a way to clear his mind and think.

Prior to enlisting Chikai studied Engineering with the intent to follow in his father's footsteps. Even after his father died Chikai continued to study and expand his skill at designing and construction. He is familiar with the capabilities, setup and operation of the SSS Collapsible Rapid Deployment Modules, EM-K5 "Sagasu" Enclosed ATV, and other standard equipment. Chikai is also trained in basic SSS field protocols, such as; setting up an encampment, working a site, artifact preservation, etc.
