Goto Kazuhiro

Goto Kazuhiro is a player character played by Lamb.

Goto Kazuhiro
Species: Minkan
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Height: 5'9 – 175 cm
Weight: 136 lbs – 61.6 kg
Organization: Star Army Reserve
Occupation: First Officer, Starship Operator
Rank: Chui
Current Placement: Fort Victory Reserve Center

Physical Characteristics

Build and Skin Color: Kazuhiro is a rather typical Minkan, with medium olive skin and a slightly muscular frame.

Eyes and Facial Features: His eyes are as green ovals sitting on top of raised cheekbones which ramp down to a nearly eternal frown. His flat chin has red marks just above it from his constant nervous biting of his lower lip.

Ears: Round and extremely ear-like.

Hair Color and Style: Kazuhiro has collar-length brown hair, which he keeps pressed back on his head in a tight slick, ending in a wide curl just above the space between his shoulder-blades.

Distinguishing Features: Red marks on lower lip from nervous nibbling.

Psychological Characteristics

Personality: Kazuhiro is noble, in his heart. His intentions are always the best and his dedication to orders and tradition can sometimes bring him ill fortune. While he's an effective leader for no other reason than to please his superiors, he tries his best to ascend to greater heights. When he's not on the job he's stand-offish, to the point of being anti-social at times. He keeps to himself in groups, excepting when he feels lonely. At this point he becomes incredibly clingy and hard to part with as he drones on and on about some inane subject because he's too shy to speak freely. This nature makes him more open to women and more closed off to men.

  • Likes: quiet rooms, Yamataian traditions, Nepleslian music, chocolate-covered bacon (Though he will never admit it), cone-shaped flowers like ecedaceae and orchids, examples of strong men in fiction, 'girl-talk'
  • Dislikes: actual strong men, most Nepleslian food, solid-ammo weapons, moral turpitude, officers who don't appreciate enlisted personnel
  • Goals: Continue his career until old age; advancing as high as possible, building a family to carry on the military tradition, owning and running a sushi-bar in his old age

History

Family (or Creators)

Parents, Living on Kyoto

  • Goto Keiko (Mother)
  • Goto Ichiro (Father)

Brother, Serving aboard the YSS Motome

  • Goto Daisuke (Brother)

Pre-RP

The Goto Family was once a large clan of metal-workers hailing from Kyoto. Before the founding of the Empire, they were proud blacksmiths known for their intricate work. The latest two generations of Goto have been somewhat lackluster. Ichiro satisfied himself to fabricate metal roofing components and doorframes, his wife a fellow metal worker. The family continues to make intricate trinkets and weapons, but modern times have little use for them. Goto and Daisuke were born into this tradition and were the first in their line to actually branch out– instead choosing to leave Kyoto and serve in the Star Army when they came of age.

Although Daisuke was never much of a performer, Kazuhiro has always taken his relatively minor assignments incredibly serious– which is how he's climbed to the rank of Shoi over the years. During his stint, Kazuhiro has filed every type of form in the Star Army, made every kind of pitiful petition, scrubbed every form of latrine. All of this, in the most backwater regions possible for his superiors to place him. Over time, he grew in rank from a simple operator to full-fledged officer status. His first year as an officer was relatively uneventful, flying patrols through the safest trade-lanes on the charts and serving on ships headed in for decommission. It was only in YE 34 that he was finally brought to a meaningful post. He was assigned as First Officer of the escort destroyer, YSS Sakishima.

The Sakishima turned out to be quite the meaningful post, indeed. Young Goto spent a good amount of time in combat against pirates during the his first year of service aboard the tiny warship. Perhaps even more eventful was the on-and-off butting of heads he experienced with the Captain of the vessel, a Neko by the name of Katai Yoshi. His love for propriety and tradition did little to mix well with her carefree attitude and simple command style. Eventually, the two settled into a workable system where Goto served as the prim and proper face of the ship– Yoshi standing as the determined and capricious leader.

In the meantime, Kazuhiro struggled with his own feelings. He had taken an intense liking to Ise Momoka, and the spark was felt between them. However; in the past, the young Shoi had a relationship with a Heisho on another posting. Aside from the throes of this relationship causing Goto to fail in his beloved duties, the fallout from that event left the young lady in question seemingly devastated. It was revealed that the guilt from this was what originally inspired Goto to ask for the transfer which eventually led him to the Sakishima. Eventually, Goto overcame his fears and pursued Momoka. The two of them began dating.

At some point, the entire crew of the Sakishima was given promotions, elevating Goto to the rank of Chui. This sudden rank increase was the result of an extensive and successful campaign to capture a pirate base in the Yugumo Cluster. The crew was also rewarded with three days leave on the resort planet, Hanako's World. Three days turned into two weeks turned into three months. Goto took up a job as a security officer on one of the many military bases on Hanako's World. He grew a beard, grew closer to Momoka, took up a penchant for carrying around a baton, and just as he was beginning to think that the Star Army had forgotten about the crew of the Sakishima their ship arrived once more– ready to take them on a dangerous mission with top secret orders.

The mission was to retrieve a certain SAINT agent from a remote planet in the Yugumo Cluster and convey them safely to Tenth Fleet Headquarters at Leo Station However: as had been typical so far aboard the Sakishima, nothing was as it seemed.
