Physical Characteristics

  • Height: 165cm or about 5'4”
  • Mass: 80kg or 176lb
  • Measurements:

Build and Skin Color: He is very evenly built, leaning slightly on the stocky side, with strong muscle definition in his limbs, complimented by a deep tan. One could easily compare his physique to a middle a weight boxer.

Eyes and Facial Features: A rather ovular face with barely noticeable cheek bones. His nose is small, rounded at the tip, and slightly down-turned while his eyes are round, hazel, and prone to an intense stare.

Ears: Human, with detached lobes.

Hair Color and Style: Carlos' hair is a thick mop of chestnut, cut close at the sides, while showing no skin, with short sideburns and left about two inches long at the top, with a slightly wavy texture and brushed back and out of his face.

Distinguishing Features: When left to his own devices, Carlos carries a contemplative scowl plastered on to his face. His demeanor is more akin to that of a lost cat, tense but curious. He also has a terrible habit of losing himself in thought, distracted by his tangent prone thought process. Otherwise, while in the presence of others, he concentrates on keeping a smirk and a confident air about himself. He tries to seem capable and ready in an attempt to keep up with the confident mask he wears so often.

Psychological Characteristics

Personality: Carlos is a well meaning young man who carries himself with an odd confidence. Years of fist fight inducing brashness sparked a wild flame in himself, while droplets of self doubt and the kind of introspection that comes with time reigned it in to a manageable level. Less of a wild fire and more of a torch, at this point. This smorgasbord of experiences has given him a firm, positive, grip on his ability to handle the physically tangible while leaving him with an awkward grasp on the intangible.

At his core, Carlos is a lost soul. A man desperate to be something more than just a brute. He is both terrified and excited by his predicament, trying to forge a place for himself in an uncaring universe. He takes to these feelings as a practiced fighter, masking it under said confidence and the occasional witticism.

  • Likes: Jazz, a good fight, noir fiction
  • Dislikes: Personal failure, arrogance, pickled ginger
  • Goals: To be something more than what he sees himself as

Family (or Creators)

  • Kuzunoha Reiho, his adoptive mother
  • Erica Luna, his twin sister

Carlos and his sister were born to a pair of, middling, nepleslian musicians who would die in an accident in transit to their final show in Neta. The twins were six at the time and would be entrusted to and formally adopted by an old friend of the family. Reiho Kuzunoha, a retired Star Army infantry officer. She would have her work cut out for her, as this would be the beginning of Carlos' combative streak.

Childhood insensitivity and the awkward cocktail of emotions that come with the sudden realization of mortality and loss had the twins reaching out to each other while pushing away their peers. Though they would be nearly inseparable, how they would come to terms with their station would differ greatly. Erica would retreat into music, following in her progenitors footsteps for comfort. Carlos took to the role of the protective big brother, protecting all he has left fist over hand. These would be their respective paths for years, coping mechanisms turning to genuine skills and then into passions and all the consequences that would come them. Erica would grow more sociable and slowly drift away from her brother as the years went by, coming into her own as a musician. Carlos would be thrust into a cornucopia of classes and activities in an attempt to give him a stronger sense of discipline. The only two that ever stuck were performing with his sister and martial arts classes. Both of which would have an odd and spotty lifespan in his years, being the only talents he felt he had and, eventually, the chains that would come to drag him further into his personal ocean of doubt.

As musician he was focused. He enjoyed it, and even more so, he enjoyed helping his sister with what she needed. She needed a pianist, she needed a keyboard player, she needed a rhythm for her siren song. As a fighter he was voracious. Every punch, every pivot, the rhythm to a song all his own. He never truly finished training in any martial art, he never felt he needed to. In his mind they were all pieces, players in his ensemble of muscle and bone. Karate, Judo, Aikido, to focus purely on one would limit him, stiffen his form.

Unfortunately with time the rift between the two siblings would grow, with distance came arguments, with arguments came coping and then introspection. In the end, his sister had a point, he needed an identity of his own. He needed something beyond just drifting through life one fight at a time and he couldn't walk the same path as his sister. At his mother's recommendation he would leave to further his education. His field of study would be as close to the opposite of the one skill he felt was truly his, he would go on to study medicine for a year before deciding he would need further distance. Carlos felt he would need complete isolation from everyone he felt familiar with, a trial by fire. As such he would begin his career in the Yamatain military.

Common Tasks

As per his training he is proficient in the Star Army Common Skills, as expected of a Star Army soldier.

While about as proficient as any other soldier in weapons training, power armor usage, and the like, Carlos is an exceptionally gifted hand to hand combatant, thanks to a long personal history of violence topped onto further martial arts training in several styles and the Star Army training regimen. His preferred fighting style is very fluid, less a dedicated stance and more of a patchwork.

With a year of prior study under his belt, Carlos had a slight head start in his Star Army medical training. While proficient in medicinal knowledge, pathology, and diagnoses, he is especially proficient in surgery, both standard and battlefield. With steady hands, a strong stomach, and a familiarity with blood and broken bones, Carlos would delve into the inner workings of the body, physically, without the same hesitation found in most medical students.

Star Army medical training has left him with a basic understanding of hominid anatomy and genetics.

He is a proficient pianist and keyboard player. He would pick up this particular set of skills, initially, at his sister's behest but would very quickly come to enjoy having them thanks to his forays into playing in his sister's stage shows.
