The YSS Resurrection of Taiie is a starship in the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet of the Star Army of Yamatai. It will be used in the Hinomaru Sunrises plotline.

The YSS Resurrection of Taiie was laid down and constructed in YE 44 specifically to become the flagship of the reinstated Fifth Expeditionary Fleet. Everything from the actual design of the Takumi-Class Expeditionary Command Cruiser, to the ship's modifications were selected and decided by Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko. Having recently stepped down from the office of Imperial Premier, it allowed for a vision she had originally planned for her retirement to come into play; that being a massive colonization effort outside of the Kikyo Sector. Restored as a Star Army of Yamatai Taisho, given command of the re-established Fifth Expeditionary Fleet it was obvious a flagship would be needed.

The Takumi-Class Expeditionary Command Cruiser had always been earmarked as an Expeditionary Command Ship, but the YE 43 2A rebuild truly would prove its place capable of leading Expeditionary Fleets. Still holding onto the designation of “cruiser” was merely a formality for what had become a battleship/flagship more than capable of delivering an impressive amount of firepower while still having the rugged resilience to soak a lot of damage. It made sense for Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko to put her own design into use. It does not rule out, however, that down the road a larger Izanagi-Class Dreadnought could be constructed.

The name “YSS Resurrection of Taiie” was selected to remember the tragic loss Taiie and a promise to go out into the frontier to colonize new worlds for the Yamatai Star Empire.

At the last minute, in YE 44.8, the transfer of the YSS Battle of Ayenee Capital City triggered the loss of the flagship status for this vessel. As that Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko chose the obviously better equipped Izanagi-Class Dreadnought to be her flagship.

At the time of construction, several modifications and improvements were ordered and added²⁾:

• Palace-Style Passageways Black carpeting, Jiyuuian Maple for woodwork, art, and tapestries to be transferred from Motoyoshi-jo and Jiyuu Jo.
• Additional reinforcement to 2A Bunker-Style Bridge, Additional armory. Transfer of Taiie Marble from Bakufu Holdings for the Command Platform will be arranged.
• Addition of an aquarium ³⁾
• Please have Motoyoshi Tachiko contacted regarding load-outs of storage areas.
• Galaxy Arboretum Modification - I will have fruit trees and another private stock of seedlings transferred from Ainu Orchards to be included.
• Torpedo Compliment - In addition to regular armament inventory, please include Ke-Z3 Series Ransā Anti-Capital/Super-Capital Torpedo.
