Unit Supply Specialist is a logistics occupation in the Star Army of Yamatai responsible for maintaining unit-level supplies and inventory for starships, centuries, and other types of Star Army units.

The MOS code for Unit Supply Specialist is 04A and their uniforms have orange color panels on them (see Star Army Uniforms and Star Army Uniform Colors). This job is comparable to the Nepleslian Military Support Specialist.

The Star Army of Yamatai added 04A Unit Supply Specialist to its list of military occupational specialties in YE 33. Prior to that, the responsibilities of the position belonged to the general MOS 04 Cargo and Supply.

The Star Army is looking for soldiers who are detail-oriented, highly organized, good with math, good with computers, and trustworthy. Unit Supply Specialists do a lot of physical labor moving boxes and materiel so supply specialists must be strong, in good physical condition, and able to repeatedly lift heavy containers.

Soldiers must be enlisted in the Star Army under a current Star Army Enlistment Contract and must have completed their basic training and job training for this MOS.

Unit Supply Specialist is enlisted and non-commissioned officer occupation only. The minimum rank for this occupation is Santô Hei and the maximum rank is Jôtô Heisho.

In the roleplay, here's some things a character could be doing:

• Store and organize equipment, weapons, ammunition, Star Army Explosives, and supplies
• Keep track of the ship's inventory using data pads and/or computers
• Check in with
  • the ship's head cook about ordering food
  • technicians about ordering replacement parts such as armor plates for Ke-M2 "Mindy" Series of Power Armor.
  • medics for medical supplies
  • Ship captain or unit commander for any special order requests
• Load cargo containers and crates into the cargo bay when the ship stops at friendly ports. Secure them properly.
• Issue weapons, explosives, and missiles to the crew before a battle or other missions
• Ship obsolete or non-functional equipment to a Star Army Depot such as the Central Fleet Depot
• Provide postal, mail, and parcel services to units operating in the field
• Deploy and store folding Standard Starship Cargo Containers.
• Fabricate things in a fabrication bay

Unit Supply Specialists have all the Star Army Common Skills.

They are familiar Star Army logistics and procedures such as the Star Army Supply Classification, Materiel Tracking System, Star Army Logistics Database, and Star Army Equipment Labels.

Unit Supply Specialists can operate a forklift like the Star Army Ke-K3 Forklift.

In the Star Army of Yamatai, all Unit Supply Specialists are certified small aerospace craft pilots and can fly shuttle craft such as the Ke-T7 "Raccoon" Transport Shuttle and Ke-T8 "Kuma" Multi-role Shuttle. This makes them a great substitute when a regular pilot isn't available.

Unit supply specialists are trained to safely handle live ammo, explosives, and munitions.

Players of characters in this occupation should manage their starship's inventory and post communications to Star Army Logistics in the Yamatai Government forum when they need to request supplies.
