The Star Army Feather Duster, Type 36 is light cleaning equipment used by the Star Army of Yamatai.

In YE 36 the Star Army of Yamatai began fielding the Service Android, Type 36A "Emma" aboard their ships and installations. While the Star Army Standard Life Support Systems and the Nodal System do a good job of filtering or breaking down dust and other particles, what is not removed from the air tends to settle on surfaces where filtration and roaming airborne femtomachines are less effective. The Star Army Feather Duster, Type 36 was created as an iconic piece of equipment for the Emma, as much for appearance's sake as practical purposes.

The Star Army Feather Duster, Type 36 is composed of a hemosynthetic bone handle, polished smooth, approximately 0.33m (13“) in length. A mop of feathers, approximately 5cm (2”) in diameter, grown hemosynthetically from the Elysian pattern, is affixed to one end. As such, it is easily replicable by the Nodal System or in a Star Army Fabrication Chamber, Type 39.

The user grasps the handle end of the Star Army Feather Duster, Type 36 and, with a light, fluid motion, gently but thoroughly swishes the feathered end back and forth over the surface to be dusted, until the particles are dispersed in the air to be sucked into life support filtration or reclaimed by the Nodal System for raw materials purposes.
