Build and Skin Color: Thaddeus has a drawn, lanky, muscular build that is somewhat sinewy. He has wide shoulders but thin hips and a long legs. He has pale, sallow, skin that still remains handsome and healthy looking.

Eyes and Facial Features: His long face is coupled with olive shaped eyes that seem aloof but caring. His eyes are a bright hazel flecked with a darker shade. Thaddeus’s face is long and gaunt with classical, angular, features and a strong chin.

Ears: Stiff and thin, Thaddeus’ ears are as classic and angular as the rest of him.

Hair Color and Style: Thaddeus keeps his jet black hair meticulously slicked back. While not particularly long, his hair is not short either. If he were to let it hang down it would fall around his earline. He has pronounced widow’s peak that is clearly visible and prominently displayed.

Distinguishing Features:

Personality: Thaddeus is a polite, cultured, blue-blooded man with an intense interest in one thing- the truth. He is an academic at heart and never rushes anything (even when it must be rushed). The man carries himself like a true gentleman and has an archaic sense of “honor” that might be more at home in Victorian london than in space. Despite his critical and rigid way of conducting himself he is a true romantic at heart, though he hides it well. He has adventurous spirit that he keeps wrapped under layers of polite pretenses.

• Likes: Puzzles, fine wine, a good book, classical music, proper protocol, and (secretly) exploration. He also have a passion for archaeology, alien cultures, and linguistics.
• Dislikes: Thaddeus cannot stomach offenses to his honor (or that of a lady’s), is revolted by poor quality food, talks down to people he sees as “lower” than himself (even if they outrank him), and gets a trifle annoyed with people who do not have respect for the spoken language.
• Goals: Thaddeus sees the universe as one big puzzle. He wants to see all of it and meet wonderful creatures. He is a man of many talents but he would like to see even those grow. In his heart he wants to find true love amongst the stars and solve mysteries no one else can.

Thaddeus is a member of the esteemed Hemlock family. The Hemlock family line goes back, rumor has it, to Earth proper. If you believe the stories told around the dinner tables, they were the descendants of emperors, heads of state, and kings. While no one can verify this, the Hemlock family is undoubtedly a rich and influential family whose ancestor’s names keep popping up in old documents. They seem immune to any sort of financial downturn, maintaining a sizable fortune even in the worst of times. Many of their various business ventures have been in the field of medicine and banking. Thaddeus is the second son of Herman Hemlock (esq.), a banking magnet turned politician. His older brother, Herman Jr., is following in his father’s footsteps while his mother helps maintain the family’s high-profile image.

Thaddeus is the son of a business mogul and politician from a very old and influential family. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and was given only the best growing up. However, unlike his more success obsessed family- Thaddeus has a kinder and more inquisitive mind. He is rather late-blooming, having been a student of several disciplines. Thaddeus has always been interested in space travel but it took a back-seat to his family’s insistence on him becoming a Doctor. Academically gifted, Thaddeus graduated medical school at the early age of 24 before returning to college to teach medical ethics.

One night, Thaddeus witnessed a shooting star fly across the horizon and the stress of a life run by his parents finally “snapped” him. He was picked up two days later with a black eye, three charges for public intoxication, and a slap on the wrist for starting a bar-fight. His family made them “go away”, but his relationship with them was forever and fundamentally changed. Striking out on his own he continued his education- dropping his medical degree in favor of more esoteric areas of study. He has studied philosophy, archeology and now holds a masters in theoretical physicals. Despite being born to a life of luxury- he decided to give his family one final rebuff by offering Star Army his services rather than going into the private sector.

Thaddeus is able to speak Trade and Yamataigo but is also able to (with time) decypher unknown languages as he is something of a xeno-linguist.

The good doctor has a strong grasp of diplomacy (from his family) and philosophy

Thaddeus is a theoretical physicist. What Thaddeus has not dabbled in is probably outweighed by the number of things he HAS dabbled in. Be it physics, dimension theory, chemistry, forensic sciences, and even business management.

Thaddeus is a doctor… just not a practicing one. He is skilled enough to perform the role of a general practitioner on a small ship in a pinch but he is much more of a “thinker” than an active doctor. He is far better at deduction and pathology than surgery and is actually a bit repelled by the activity.

Thaddeus is well acquainted with technology, but is not a master of it. He can use it to read scans and type up reports but he is no hacker or information specialist.

Thaddeus has an academic mind like a steel trap. He is something of a Renaissance man with particular noteworthy skill in archaeology and history.

Then again, he is much better on the theory and mechanics behind fighting than actually doing it.
