Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano is a GM NPC played by Andrew. She was made originally as an GM NPC in the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet. Then she was resubmitted in 2011.¹⁾

Yamatsutsuji(山躑躅) means “Silk Tree” in Yamataigo (邪馬台語). A name that was given to Ayano by Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro in YE 30. In nature, the blossoms of the silk tree close at night as if to protect themselves from the darkness. It was Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro's observation that Ayano had the ability to shroud herself in her work in the Star Army of Yamatai which helped protect her from the looming shadow cast by the actions of the Tange Clan and other traitors that had gone to the United Outer Colonies.

Ayano is a NH-33 (Tennyo) Nekovalkyrja with elf-style ears.As of her last appearance update in YE 43 she has a bright occasionally blushed cream complexion and shoulder-length black hair, and teal-blue almond-shaped eyes. Her body language tends to be expressive of her emotions and she commonly will revert to an at-ease stance even in casual situations.

Ayano tends to wear very fruity perfumes, her favorite is called Neko Paradise. ³⁾

Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano is an ESTJ personality type.⁴⁾ She is an extremely high-energy person and tends to very extroverted in her nature. She often is the first to step forward, and the last to back down which has helped drive her career to its current level of success in the Star Army of Yamatai. She concerns herself with the nature of the process and has an expectation of results and values those with progressive mindsets. Ayano has no trouble at all in following the guidance of her unorthodox mentor, Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko, but has developed her own style of command which tends to be much more outgoing than her teacher.

Ayano has high expectations of her staff and those who serve beneath her. She expects adherence to policy and regulation and is less likely to allow some of the more relaxed procedures followed by some in her clan. She is very schedule-driven and expects others around her to be as well. During her command of Hotaru Star Fortress she often adhered to a very strict schedule that rarely afforded her breaks or relief from the duty. She always finds the silver lining in the dark clouds of negativity and is optimistic even when faced with possible no-win scenarios. Her vibrant nature is often infectious and is good at keeping morale among her subordinates high. She is very hard-working but often subjects herself to exhaustion or over-commitment.

In her personal relationships she tends to be outgoing, often griping if someone else takes the center of attention off her. At times she can be perceived as bossy or overbearing but she often has the situation and the person she is dealing with at heart. Romantically Ayano tends to be a very flirty individual, often choosing fun over long-term commitment.

Ayano enjoys tropical worlds with plenty of water; she finds luxury in laying on the beach or going out on a yacht during what little leave time she takes. She loves going to dance clubs, stripping, and will occasionally participate in speed dating events.

Her drink of choice is a hibiscus brewed hot tea with passion fruit. A staple of any good meeting with her is to bring her one of these. She enjoys seafood and the occasional steak, especially if it is served in a surf and turf combination. Her beer of choice is the Minori IPA and if she's going to a Brew Pub she will order the Yui Planet Cracker Wings just to get the attention of other people she is dining with. Her Pizza Pie of choice is the Seaweed and Oyster Special.

She is intolerant of disorganized people, and will often bring correct to whatever is not in order. She loathed Motoyoshi Misato with a passion and celebrated her death in YE 42. She really dislikes the Neppie Pickles at the Brew Pub, she finds them sour and putrid.

The history and background of Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano.

Before Roleplay History.

• Ayano was created as a NH-17 Nekovalkyrja in YE 20 on Yamatai Star Empire.
• She transitioned like most soldiers in the Army Of Uesureya into the Star Army of Yamatai in YE 21.
• She served as a Bridge Bunny from YE 21 until YE 22 on various ships in the new Star Army of Yamatai
• In YE 22 she was assigned to the GSS Ketsurui Chiharu under the command of Taisho Kessaku Irim. She quickly climbed through the ranks and by YE 27 she had been promoted to the rank of Taisa and commanded the YSS Moshun.
• In YE 28 she was transferred to the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet and was promoted to the rank of Shôshô and given the command of Hotaru Star Fortress under Taisho Motoyoshi Katsuko.

In YE 29, Yamada Ayano-Shosho commanded Hotaru Star Fortress during its epic escape during the Battle Of Taiie. Her quick thinking and use of the Fortress's ability to assist other ships into FTL it saved thousands of civilian ships that had been operating in the Taiie. She was one of the first to pledge her clan, the Yamada Clan to the Motoyoshi Clan as a tributary. ⁵⁾

During the YE 30 separation of the Jiyuu no Motoyoshi⁶⁾ she found herself at odds with everyone around her. Like Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro, she refused the offer to join the United Outer Colonies and returned to Yamatai (Planet) to support Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko after she attempted to assassinate Motoyoshi Saito and failed. During the YE 30's Ayano was one of the people who noticed that Motoyoshi Misato was manipulating Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko and had retained her contacts in the United Outer Colonies.

In YE 34 she was promoted to the rank of Chujo and transferred along with Hotaru Star Fortress into the Seventh Fleet under the command of her mentor Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko.⁷⁾ Ayano became driven to expose the trechary of Motoyoshi Misato, yet proceeded to do so while adhering to Star Army of Yamatai regulations. In YE 41 she transferred again, following Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko to her new assignment in the First Expeditionary Fleet. She was given the prestigious role of commanding the Star Army of Yamatai's most infamous Zodiac-Class Star Fortress, Gemini Star Fortress during which time Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko began to groom her to be her successor.

In early YE 43, while the rest of the Star Army of Yamatai celebrated Victory Day YE 43, Chujo Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano is on Gemini Star Fortress handling the repairs of the YSS Tokyo and the rest of the First Expeditionary Fleet that participated in the Battle Of Glimmergold. The Communications Officer for Gemini Star Fortress, Shoi Ellie Vixx brings a mysterious communication to her attention from the Yuuki System. The communications show signs of a highly complex, quantum computer with a sentient AI is active in the system. Ayano assigns the YSS Mazu to investigate. ⁸⁾

In YE 43, after rumor and speculation⁹⁾, Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko retired from the Star Army of Yamatai and Ayano was promoted to Taisho and given command of the First Expeditionary Fleet. ¹⁰⁾¹¹⁾
