ISS Evenstar (Yoi-no-Myōjō)

The ISS Evenstar (Yoi-no-Myōjō) is a Tanya-Class Expeditionary Heavy Cruiser which is owned by the Motoyoshi Clan and is operated as part of the Takeda Fleet by Yugumo Merchant Spacy. It was launched in late YE 44. It is the cynosure ship in the Motoyoshi Rising plot.

The ISS Evenstar (Yoi-no-Myōjō) was commissioned in YE 43, but did not get cleared for active duty until late in YE 44 due to priority in the Yugumo Fleetworks. The ship serves as the flagship of the Motoyoshi Clan and is part of the Yugumo Merchant Spacy. In YE 45, it was decided that the newly promoted Shipmaster Motoyoshi Eidan, the Motoyoshi Clan prodigy and favorite of Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko would take command. His crew that was trained by Takagawa Hitomi would be transferred from the ISS Shiori along with him.¹⁾

The ISS Evenstar is considered the Motoyoshi Clan Flagship.

Uniforms and Standards for the Evenstar Crew

The officers and crew are part of the Yugumo Merchant Spacy and wear the Type 43 Yugumo Corporation Uniforms with the black beret bearing the ship's mission patch on the flash that is shipboard duty issue, All uniforms and armor bear the Takeda Fleet logo on the right shoulder with their Merchant Spacy Patch beneath it, and the ship's mission patch on the left, with the 紺碧軍団 Konpeki Gundan (Azure Legion) badge beneath it. Their rank pin is displayed on the left side of their uniform collar.

The Type 43 Yugumo Corporation Uniforms worn aboard the Evenstar, like those on the ISS Shiori before, use a different color scheme than standard. Rather than the purple one-piece dress or light charcoal jacket with darker trousers, both uniforms are a deep, dark charcoal that is nearly black even under close inspection, and feature gold trim. Coveralls and security response armor are also dark charcoal and have the same patches and insignia. Flight suits are dark charcoal with dark purple panels and gold trim.

The ship's mission patch is a blue and purple peony flower. The Takeda Fleet Patch respectively.

The ship has three duty shifts:

• First Shift 0500-1700 (Jiyuu Time)
• Second Shift 0900-2100 (Jiyuu Time)
• Third Shift 1700-0500 (Jiyuu Time)

In YE 44, when Takagawa Hitomi, a veteran educator, was asked to rejoin the ISS Shiori, the decision was made among her, Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro, and Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko to devise an advanced curriculum with real accreditation for Motoyoshi Eidan and the hand-picked prodigies who would accompany him. In YE 45, when the Azure Legion was formed aboard the Evenstar, the program was continued there.

In association with the Colonial Sector University System, the decision was made to create an experimental pilot program for exceptional youth in their last years of secondary education or first years of tertiary education. The initiative is under the auspices of a consortium consisting of Tokyo University and the Scientific Studies Service Gakuin Academy, with support from the Kyousou Institute of Technology, the Tsubomi School System, the Kikyō Scouts, the Shima Oceanographic Institute, and the Jiyuu University for Agricultural Studies.

The ISS Evenstar is considered a Kyousou Institute of Technology Remote Campus and SSS - Satellite Campus, as well as a campus of the Colonial Sector University System for purposes of credit recognition and transferability.

The ISS Evenstar is a functioning troop of the Kikyō Scouts with Takagawa Hitomi as its leader. In YE 45, when the Azure Legion was formed aboard the Evenstar, the troop was transferred along with them.

The Troop's number is 1712, after the grid sector of the Taiie system, colonized in YE 28 by the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet under its commander Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko, grandmother of Motoyoshi Eidan. The star was destroyed during the First Mishhuvurthyar War in YE 29 by the Sfrarabla Mishhuvurthyar Xhrafuklurp (SMX), leaving behind the Taiie Nebula. In memory of the capital of the colony, Seijin no Umi, Port City of Taiie on Taiie IV, the troop's mascot is the “Sea Saints,” based on the Trade translation of the Yamataigo name: “Saint of the Sea.”

The troop is known as Troop 1712 “Sea Saints” among the Kikyō Scouts.

The Evenstar will be the first ship to test the new Yugumo Fleetworks standard interior modules.

The avatar of the ship's immensely powerful KAIMON Super-Gate is named “Lucia” and appears as an ethereal Yamataian woman with a deep dusky skin-tone, and brilliant golden hair and eyes that shine with their own radiant, stellar luminescence. She is often wearing flowing robes that swirl with deep blues, purples, greens, and black like nebulae upon the void of space, and spattered with shining silver, gold, pale blue, and the occasional red spots like the myriad stars themselves. She has an unfailingly wise, motherly, judicious, graceful, and noble aspect to her that permeates every action and expression and word of her warm, rich, sonorant voice.

Third Officer Motoyoshi Ponyo - A burly, deep-voiced Minkan woman, originally of the Anisa System. Her parents were adopted into the clan during its first decade of existence. She was raised on a remote resource-extraction homestead, and sometimes uses strange or 'folksy' aphorisms. She is loyal to Clan and Empire, and expects a high degree of professionalism and effort from her subordinates. Her text color is Margarita, b0c24a. This NPC was introduced in “What in the Void-Filled Hells?”.³⁾

Senchō-no-joshu Ialnys Cienori - A Norian male with an athletic build, black hair and golden eyes. He was born on Noria and much like Yuki Inihara lost his parents, albeit both during the Umarian War. This is something they have bonded over in addition to their shared passion of the arts, though he is more apt to sit for paintings instead of creating them himself. He is loyal to Tsenlan and the Motoyoshi Clan. This NPC was introduced in “What in the Void-Filled Hells?”.⁴⁾

The vessels that are docked to, hangared in, and accompany the Evenstar are known as Orchid Fleet.

The four frigate docks on the docking ring are usually occupied by the Misha-Class Explorer companion ships. Their shuttle bays each have one Taka-Class Shuttle. All of them, and their shuttles, are fully equipped with ELECTRA, Sorakagami Aerospace Operations Suite and Umikagami Subsurface Operations Suite.

A fifth Misha-Class Explorer, the ISS Shiori (PYX-C05-0001), accompanies the Evenstar. It is the personal starship of its captain, Motoyoshi Eidan.

Besides the docked frigates, the Evenstar is generally escorted by 8 Yūgure-class Merchant Destroyer, Their shuttle bays have one Mōkin-Class Patrol Craft and two Mozu-Class Starfighter. All of them, and their small craft, are fully-equipped with ELECTRA, Sorakagami Aerospace Operations Suite and Umikagami Subsurface Operations Suite.
