Akiko is a mostly uninhabited system just to the galactic East of the Bard Cluster. It is named after Shimizu-Motoyoshi Akiko (清水本吉明子).

Akiko (明子) means, “Bright Child” in Yamataigo (邪馬台語).
In YE 28, the system was originally colonized under the control of the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet and protected until YE 29 when the Mishhuvurthyar spread galactic West towards the Bard Cluster. It was then under the control of the Mishhuvurthyar until their defeat in YE 30.
In YE 30, Akiko was relinquished to the Yamatai Star Empire's control as part of the Intergalactic Armistice Agreement of YE 30 (IAA) signed at the International Relations Conference of YE 30 YE 30 at the end of the First Mishhuvurthyar War.
After the Mishhuvurthyar left, the system was once again under the control of the Yamatai Star Empire . Akiko fell under the protection of the Fourth Fleet, and it was re-colonized primarily by former Yamatai Star Empire soldiers. It was named after the Fourth Fleet Taisho Shimizu-Motoyoshi Akina (清水本吉明菜)'s daughter, Shimizu-Motoyoshi Akiko (清水本吉明子).
In YE 32, The colony was abandoned when the NMX swept west towards the Bard Cluster. All equipment was destroyed.
In YE 34, The Scientific Studies Service (SSS) deployed a Ke-P6-01a Bisen Lighthouse on the surface of the planet Tomoko at the request of the Star Army of Yamatai.
In YE 44, The Bisen lighthouse sent a compiled report of the normal atmospheric conditions over a period of ten orbital cycles.
Information on the Akiko System is transmitted by a Yomawari-Class NavComm Buoy placed in mid-YE 43 as follows:

PAINT service is currently inactive between any worlds. Private transportation must be obtained to visit this system. The only regular travel is vessels bringing supplies, retrieving resources, and rotating out crew for the Bisen Lighthouse and the orbital station.
The population of planet Tomoko are all members of the crew of the Bisen Lighthouse. They belong to the Scientific Studies Service (SSS).
In orbit over Tomoko there is a mining transfer station run by Shimizu Heavy Industries. that intakes raw materials for transport and/or refining from all the interests throughout the system. It is the only other place permanent residents stay.
