The Type 30 ACP Scatter Gun is a short ranged weapon manufactured by Ketsurui Zaibatsu for the Star Army of Yamatai. It was designed as a close quarters combat weapon where extreme blast force is needed to take down opponents. It uses magnetic acceleration to fire plasma-loaded cartridges (DR 4). It is fully capable of firing in semi-automatic with each pull of the trigger for use against multiple targets or in pump action in situations where manual reloading may be required or preferred. Modes are selected by a switch on the weapon's left side. It has a magazine capacity of 8 rounds and is designed so that reloads can be topped off with extra cartridges when the opportunity presents itself. It is also equipped with a rail interface system on the top and sides for use with combat aids and comes with glow in the dark iron sights, collapsible stock, and pistol grip.

The Star Army began to phase out this weapon from its inventory in YE 40.

The Type 30 ACP Scatter Gun in a recoil operated shotgun. The ammo loading mechanism is located on the top just between the rear sight and the top mounted rail interface, it is also equipped with a dust cover. Plasma cartridges are loaded by simply pushing then into the chamber one by one. Once loaded, pump it to load the first round in to the firing chamber and the weapon will then be ready to fire. This must be done every time only when the weapon is completely empty even in semi-automatic There is a thumb selector on the side for the trigger group: pump-action, semi-automatic, and safety.

Pulling the trigger in semi-auto mode will fire the plasma round and the resulting recoil will force a new round into the chamber. If fired in pump-action mode, then the weapon will have to be pumped manually in order to load a new round in to the chamber.

The Type 30 ACP Scatter Gun also is equipped with a rail interface system that will fit most standard issue rail mounted combat aids. The most popular accessories for the weapon are a top mounted red dot reflex sight and a side mounted flashlight/laser sight combo unit.
