Type 35 Mobile Gun System "Jinsoku Majo"

Developed from the type_34_mobile_antiarmor_cannon, the Type 35 Mobile Gun System “Jinsoku Majo” (迅速 魔女 - Swift Witch) was introduced into service with the star_army_of_yamatai in the middle of ye_35 to serve as self propelled artillery, assault gun and armor destroyer.

As of ye_40, this vehicle is no longer utilized by the star_army_of_yamatai.

About and History

The Type 35 Mobile Gun System was created to fill out several important roles in the Star Army. Besides acting as an enclosed, mobile, indirect fire artillery system, the Type 35 also provides direct fire support. This is done to assist other ground based units such as power armors, and can be deployed as a fast moving armor destroyer.

Its development stemmed from the type_34_mobile_antiarmor_cannon, which in turn was spurred by events in the field. Conventional towed artillery crews suffered an exceedingly high mortality rate, and to remedy that, the provisional field trial vehicle was fielded to test military concepts which differed from standard operation and procedure. As the Type 34 was a success in its role of mobile artillery, as well as proving direct fire, the “Jinsoku Majo” was created based off of it.

In mid-YE 35, the Type 35 was put into general service with the Star Army.

Interior Description

The main compartment stretches from the vehicle's rear ramp to the commander's station, but is no longer used for passengers as in other variants. Though it is of modular layout, allowing for the vehicle to be adopted to a variety of roles, it is mostly filled with ammunition and used for little ese; the primary intended role of the Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon System is to provide rapid moving and powerful firepower, not carry infantry or their supplies. Due to being filled to the brim with munitions and other necessary supplies, the vehicle is often described as 'closely fitted' or 'cozy' by typical Star Army of Yamatai personnel, but is notably far more spacious than older designs such as tankettes.

The commander is located in the center of the vehicle with a station composed of a crash seat and a volumetric command and control system. Meanwhile, slightly forward of but still over the main compartment of the vehicle, the gunner resides within the turret's bustle directly underneath the turret and autoloader assembly. From here, the gunner may remotely control the turret on the vehicle. Meanwhile, unlike the commander and gunner, the driver receives his or her own compartment forward of the two. It has a reclined crash seat and volumetric view system of its own.

Though the interior of the turret can be entered by anyone in the main compartment, it is done only for maintenance or reloading of the magazine. The turret houses the 125mm gun as well as its accompanying auto-loader and ready magazine, from which it directly feeds from. Only 15 rounds can be held in the turret at any one time; additional ammunition is commonly stowed in the main compartment's ammo racks, awaiting manual refilling of the autoloading magazine.

A 360 degree volumetric view system is used to provide the entire crew with high visibility and situational awareness. Should this system become fully nonoperational, several pairs of goggles are available that will provide visual feed and heads up display.

Weapon Systems

Designed to destroy far larger and more heavily armored enemies, the vehicle's primary weapon consists of a singular, massive cannon.

Primary Weapon System(s)

125mm Gauss Cannon

Serving as the main weapon of the Type 34 MBT, the 125mm Gauss Cannon also provides both powerful direct fire and high explosive indirect artillery fire capability for the Type 34 MAACS. Here, it is a highly advantageous weapon mounted upon the Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon - it is well capable of sniping and picking off power armor and frames kilometers away or shelling them from even further. The gun has up to 15 rounds at the ready in the turret's autoloading magazine; additional ammunition is down below in the hull's ammo racks, waiting to be manually loaded up into the magazine within the turret.

125mm Gauss Cannon

Location: Main Turret
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel, Indirect Fire
Damage: Tier 9, Munition Dependent
Range: 45,000 Meters (45 Kilometers, 28 Miles)
Rate of Fire: 1 Round Per 4.3 Seconds

Secondary Weapon System(s)

25m Automatic Gauss Cannon (2)

OI-M3-W3302 25mm Automatic Gauss Cannon

Location: Gunner's Cupola
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel
Damage: Tier 5-6, Munition Dependent
Range: 10 KM/6.2 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: 6 Rounds Per Second

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods (4)

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods

Location: Strategic Hull Points
Purpose: Defensive Countermeasure Systems
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual, Salvo
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles (Each)

Optional Weapon(s)

Multi-Flare Launcher (1)

Optionally mounted on the rear top of the upper hull and facing up into the air, the modified CAP fires flares. These serve to provide either visible light or infrared illumination on the battlefield. In addition, they may also fire numerous signal flares as well, provided the rounds are loaded. The launcher is typically positioned on the left side of the hull roof.

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods

Location: Hull Roof, Rear Left
Purpose: Multi-Spectrum Illumination
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles

Multi-Spectrum Smoke-Chaff Launchers (1)

Another optional piece of equipment, the MSSC Launchers serve to instantly generate smoke and chaff to break weapons locks. The missiles, typically located at the rear right of the hull roof, fire up into the air roughly two meters before detonating, instantly obscuring the vehicle in Smoke and Chaff. The smoke visually conceals the vehicle as the cloud rapidly billows out, and also prevents most sensors from getting a lock or detecting the vehicle itself.

Location: Hull Roof, Rear Right
Purpose: Multi-Spectrum Illumination
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles

Usage Guide

Like the Yumihei Variant, the Majo, or 'Witch', is meant to be used as a support vehicle. However, its indirect fire role is its main starring point.

Acting as a self propelled gun, the vehicle may sit several kilometers away and provide supporting indirect fire for friendly units on the field. The gun operates with an electronic fire control system which is provided information by allied units in the area, which includes real-time coordinates, trajectory and even live stream video of targets, allowing it to more actively target enemy units and effectiveness of its fire. This mode of artillery is optimal, but it may resort to more traditional means of fire as well, simply bringing the gun to bear and targeting coordinates on a map.

When not used as mobile artillery pieces however, the Jinsoku Majo was meant to be used in direct fire roles. Due to its quick acceleration to top speed, excellent handling and thinner armor, the vehicles are not suited to direct confrontation, but are instead best used to attack flanks. Specifically, its gun is best used against enemy heavy armor in a similar manner to a Fast Tank Destroyers. Naturally, the vehicles can also be used as direct fire support of powered infantry, though they will not have the same staying power as tanks.
