Type 34 Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon System

An mobile_gun_system upgraded and modified by origin. It is specifically for export to and use by the star_army_of_yamatai in ye_34.

It is known officially as the “Type 34 MAACS”, and nicknamed “Majo” (魔導士 - Witch)

As of ye_40, this vehicle is no longer utilized by the star_army_of_yamatai.

About and History

In the process of updating its inventory, The fifth_standard_fleet found that it needed a replacement for their hazardously exposed and obsolete Artillery Trailer, STV, Type 31, which served as a somewhat mobile artillery system. Contracting with origin, the mobile_gun_system was updated and modified with crew feedback from star_army_of_yamatai personnel who used the system. As a result, the Type 34 Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon System was created.

It serves both as mobile, self propelled artillery and a fast moving armor and tank destroyer.

Appearance

Due to being a variant of the Type 34 AGPC, the vehicle sports a very similar, if not outright same, look in regards to many portions of its self. The hull of the vehicle is an armored box on a set of eight hard rubber and polymer wheels - a ramming shield to the front with short, stubby spikes rests to the front as with all other models, and sports the same Multi-Net Camouflage that adorns this series of provisional vehicles by default. Both the numerous defensive and utility mini-missile launchers are also present on the hull, along with the sponson mounted automatic grenade launchers.

The main difference however, would be the addition of a remote control, 125mm gauss cannon mounted onto the top of the superstructure. In addition to this main gun, it also sports dual coaxial autocannons, with one mounted to each side of the cannon. As the gun is a remote controlled autoloader fed system, the turret is very small, compact and boxy in its design.

Interior Description

The main compartment stretches from the vehicle's rear ramp to the commander's station, but is no longer used for passengers as in other variants. Though it is of modular layout, allowing for the vehicle to be adopted to a variety of roles, it is mostly filled with ammunition; the primary intended role of the Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon System is to provide rapid moving and powerful firepower, not carry infantry. Inside, is a variety of locations for the storage of weapons, ammunition and equipment, often resulting in a full, cramped interior.

At the center of the vehicle is the turret bustle at which both commander and gunner reside. The commander's station is composed of a crash seat and a volumetric command and control system. To the left is the gunner's station; from here, the gunner may remotely control the turret on the vehicle. Meanwhile, unlike the commander and gunner, the driver receives his or her own compartment forward of the two. It has a reclined crash seat and volumetric view system of its own.

Though the interior of the turret can be entered by anyone in the main compartment, it is done only for maintenance or reloading of the magazine. The turret houses the 125mm gun as well as its accompanying auto-loader and ready magazine, from which it directly feeds from. Only 15 rounds can be held in the turret at any one time; additional ammunition may be stowed in the main compartment's ammo racks, awaiting manual refilling of the autoloading magazine.

A 360 degree volumetric view system is used to provide the entire crew with high visibility and situational awareness. Should this system become fully nonoperational, several pairs of heavy goggles are available that will provide visual feed.

Weapon Systems

Primary Weapon System(s)

125mm Gauss Cannon

Serving as the main weapon of the Type 34 MBT, the 125mm Gauss Cannon also provides both powerful direct fire and high explosive indirect artillery fire capability for the Type 34 MAACS. Here, it is a highly advantageous weapon mounted upon the Mobile Anti-Armor Cannon - it is well capable of sniping and picking off power armor and frames kilometers away or shelling them from even further. The gun has up to 15 rounds at the ready in the turret's autoloading magazine; additional ammunition is down below in the hull's ammo racks, waiting to be manually loaded up into the magazine within the turret.

125mm Gauss Cannon

Location: Main Turret
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel, Indirect Fire
Damage: ADR 5, Munition Dependent
Range: 45,000 Meters (45 Kilometers, 28 Miles)
Rate of Fire: 1 Round Per 5 Seconds

Secondary Weapon System(s)

25m Automatic Gauss Cannon (2)

A robust and easy to maintain weapon, the 25mm AGC provides reasonable firepower for the MAACS, capable of demolishing buildings, wrecking havoc on infantry and damaging power armors.

OI-M3-W3302 25mm Automatic Gauss Cannon

Location: Gunner's Cupola
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel
Damage: ADR 3, Munition Dependent
Range: 10 KM/6.2 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: 6 Rounds Per Second

Type 35 Automatic Grenade Launcher (2)

Replacing Origin's 42mm Airburst Grenade Launchers found on the OMGS it was based off, the Type 34 MAACS uses a Type 35 AGL modified for mounted vehicular use. These remain a semi-autonomous point defense weapon with limited firing arcs, requiring user input to fire. The launchers serve the purpose of preventing enemy movement out of the firing arc of the main 125mm gauss cannon with its high explosive airburst rounds.

Type 35 Automatic Grenade Launcher

Location: Hull, Front Left and Front Right
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel
Damage: PDR 4-ADR 2, Munition Dependent
Range: 200 Meters2) (4 km, Manual Operation)
Rate of Fire: 4 Rounds Per Second

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods (4)

Heavily modified, the preexisting mini-missile launchers in the Star Army of Yamatai's inventory have been remade to be more boxlike and with a larger ammunition capacity than its normal version. The usage of the same munitions remains, ensuring simplified logistics, and the launchers themselves retain a 60% parts commonality with standard calf mounted models, mainly electronics.

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods

Location: Strategic Hull Points
Purpose: Defensive Countermeasure Systems
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual, Salvo
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles (Each)

Optional Weapon(s)

Multi-Flare Launcher (1)

Optionally mounted on the rear top of the turret and facing up into the air, the modified CAP fires flares. These serve to provide either visible light or infrared illumination on the battlefield. In addition, they may also fire numerous signal flares as well, provided the rounds are loaded. The launcher is typically positioned on the left side of the turret roof.

Countermeasure Augmentation Pods

Location: Turret Roof, Rear Left
Purpose: Multi-Spectrum Illumination
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles

Multi-Spectrum Smoke-Chaff Launchers (1)

Another optional piece of equipment, the MSSC Launchers serve to instantly generate smoke and chaff to break weapons locks. The missiles, typically located at the rear right of the turret roof, fire up into the air roughly two meters before detonating, instantly obscuring the vehicle in Smoke and Chaff. The smoke visually conceals the vehicle as the cloud rapidly billows out, and also prevents most sensors from getting a lock or detecting the vehicle itself.

Location: Turret Roof, Rear Right
Purpose: Multi-Spectrum Illumination
Damage: None
Range: 80 KM/50 Miles, Atmosphere
Rate of Fire: Individual
Ammunition: 25 Mini-Missiles
