YSS Tansaku , YX-C1-0001, is the first Tansaku-class Science Vessel built at the Ketsurui Fleet Yards on Yamatai (Planet) in YE 31, and upgraded to the 1B variant in YE 33 for the Scientific Studies Service (SSS).

The Tansaku is the flag ship for the Scientific Studies Service (SSS) and also serves as a training ship for all Scientific Studies Service (SSS) Tansaku personnel. She is currently stationed at Daichi.

The ship's name Tansaku means Search in Yamataian. It was given the name by Saiki Kouan-Shuji, the director of the Scientific Studies Service (SSS).

The Tansaku is the training ship for all Scientific Studies Service (SSS) Tansaku personnel. She is currently stationed at Daichi.

• At the start of YE 31 during the outbreak of the Second Mishhuvurthyar War the Tansaku, Tankyuu, Saiensu, and Kagaku assisted the YSS Aeon and the rest of the Second Squadron in the Battle of UX-25.
• The Tansaku and its ships later explored UX-23 identifying resource and materials for use by the service. After that they made a run against the blockade at the North Gate. The damaged ships then made their way to Daichi for repairs.

• In YE 33 the Tansaku was upgraded to a 1B at the YSS Tsuuken in Daichi System.
