The Heavy Lift Teleportation Unit was created to provide the M12 Kirie and M13 Keiko power armors with teleportation capabilty to match Ke-M2-4 Series "Mindy 4" Armors — which comes standard with a teleporter unit — in mixed Uchuugun power armor teams, as well as to allow commanders of such shipboard infantry units to redeploy under the direction and control of a single Project THOUGHT power armor when such is present. The Ke-M12-P4600 Heavy Lift Teleportation Unit came into service in YE 46.

In mid YE 45, Ketsurui Aiko requested the development and construction of a tactical mass teleportation device to be used by Project THOUGHT power armors. Combined with a desire to fill a capability gap in Aiko's favored Kirie Thought Armor (as well as the more widely available M13 Keiko), the idea stemmed from her experiece utilizing the long forgotten YSS Asamoya's prototype Transfer Chamber¹⁾ during the YE 45 Liberation Of Hanako's World and a drive to apply mass teleportation on a smaller scale for the benefit of shipboard power armor teams. Further, an ability to bring along allied armors that cannot teleport was needed, including those worn by soldiers on exchange from the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps, as well as non-teleporting Star Army of Yamatai power armors such as the Daisy M6 Infantry Power Armor.

Collaborating with developers from Ketsurui Fleet Yards, the YSS Kaiyō II's engineers and armorers produced a prototype in YE 45.8 under Aiko's orders, when it was subsequently deployed during combat operations in the Aingeal System.²⁾

The Ke-M12-P4600 is a large but sleek accessory module that attaches to the backpack hardpoint on any M12 Kirie or M13 Keiko Thought Armor. It is a “large, curved half oval backpack” with casing aesthetically matched to both the M12 and M13's design language, with the Heavy Lift Unit possessing “graceful lines despite its size.” When assigned to a ship's armory the Ke-M12-P4600 is painted in the unit's livery, which is most commonly the same Star Army Infantry Cornflower Blue found on production models of the M13 Keiko. The module will self-destruct if tampered with by unauthorized personnel.

Drawing from a Thought Armor's massive energy production capability, the Heavy Lift Teleportation Unit is used to teleport either a single M12 Kirie/M13 Keiko or one such power armor plus any assortment of smaller mass signatures. Notably, the Ke-M12-P4600 does not require the teleporting master unit to make physical contact with other objects in order to bring them along, and thus allows for the collective teleportation of several power armor soldiers in concert from a single designated proximity area around the user.

When multiple signatures are selected, the recharge time of the Heavy Lift Unit is increased. A single M12/M13 transporting itself can use the module similarly to that of an M2-4 Mindy 4, able to be activated “every 15 seconds and be used continuously several (7-10) times in a row before requiring a cooldown period of ten minutes or less” before a period of heat dissipation. When larger teleportation solutions are made, to include multiple friendly power armors or objects, the Ke-M12-P4600 requires more downtime to accommodate a replenishment of minimal power reserves; this process can take up to 20 minutes.

• Range: About 5 AU. Longer jumps could be made with the help of a starship IES more powerful than the CIES carried by Thought Armors.
• Maximum Mass: Can safely transport approximately 5,000 kg. Do not exceed or partial teleportation may occur.
• Damage: In atmospheric environments, teleportation causes mild shockwave of heat and sound at the transit destination. More dangerous indoors.
• Charge Cycle: Between 10 minutes and 20 minutes depending on the transported load.
