• Ria's body was genetically engineered before birth and has since been further enhanced with bioengineered enhancements. As such, at 22 years old, she appears as an attractive, healthy human female with an average, albeit curvy build. She stands at 169cm (5ft 7in) tall and masses 59kg (130 lbs). Her measurements are 34-24-35 and she wears a 38E cup.

• Designed to be an idealised physical blend of her parents' appearance, Ria has pale pink skin that shines with a soft golden tan. The only hair that grows on her body other than the blonde wavy hair atop her head, that falls to her middle-back, are her dark blonde eyebrows. Ria has beautiful, cornflower blue eyes.

• Being the recipient of genetic engineering and bioengineered enhancements, Ria has several advantages over a stock human. In terms of physical attributes, she is naturally as physically able as a trained athlete with improved skeletal and muscular strength, an upgraded nervous system and thicker skin. Her immune system is strengthened and Ria tends to heal more quickly, although this can be suppressed chemically if needed - for example to allow cybernetic implants or further bioenhancements to take. Her sensory organs are also improved, allowing her a greater range and sensitivity of input. In order to support the improved functionality of her body, Ria's metabolism has also been enhanced. As a consequence, she must consume more nutrients than the average person, especially when healing or pushing her body to its limits for a sustained period of time. Regretfully, Ria has also discovered that the improved metabolism makes it much harder for her to get drunk. Her mind has also received some enhancements, although not to the same degree as her body - falling short of being a natural genius, Ria is still a quick learner and has a superior retention of knowledge.

• As a function of one of her bio-enhancement packages, Ria is designed to 'naturally' give off a pleasing scent. This scent can be reprogrammed, but requires a short visit to an appropriately-equipped beautician clinic to accomplish. Her current scent combines notes of coconut, orange, bergamot, pink peppercorn and neroli and is based off of her memories of a tropical paradise resort she visited on holiday in her teens. Ria's voice is naturally warm and pleasant, with a rich and smoky timbre in the contralto range.

• Thanks to the environment she grew up within, Ria strongly expresses an ENTJ-A (Assertive Commander) personality type. She is a strong-willed and self-confident woman who prefers an efficient approach to dealing with obstacles. Ria is naturally predisposed to assess her goals, means and available opportunities to develop a strategic approach to problem solving and long-term planning. She is also capable of being charismatic and inspirational when it comes to motivating others to follow or support her plans. Ria approaches life with positivity, energy and zeal.

• As a side effect of her go-getter nature, Ria can be stubborn when her plans are thwarted. This can also manifest as a desire to take control of a situation if she believes it is in danger of derailing her goals. Ria also tends to be intolerant of distractions and diversions that don't serve to promote her interests in at least some fashion. Because of her goal-focused approach, Ria can come across as impatient, arrogant and even cold or ruthless to those who she feels are thwarting or hindering her.

• Because Ria prefers to plan ahead, she doesn't handle improvisation under pressure as well as others. She understand criticism is a valid, even desirable tool, for self-improvement, but Ria sometimes forgets that not everyone handles it so well, or is as ready to hear and/or deliver it. In the interest of self-development, Ria prefers to try new things and new routines as opposed to just repeating previous actions/behaviours/routines. However, she isn't afraid to abandon a new approach if it proves untenable or inferior to a previous methodology.

Ria was born as Gloria de la Rosa, on 17日 2月 YE23 at the Villa de la Rosa in Prime City on the planet Nepleslia Prime. She was the third-born child to Karena and Alejandro de la Rosa.

• Given the family wealth, Ria had little in the way of wants growing up. In recompense, she had to suffer through unending lessons on comportment, etiquette and family politics. From a young age, she learned that her role in life was to fetch the best husband she could, as chosen by her mother, for the betterment of the family. Of course, being so young, such a rigid and pre-determined destiny wouldn't bother her for many more years and when not in lessons Ria could enjoy life and play like any other kid.

• Even young, Ria found herself fascinated with food, in no small part because she was strongly discouraged by her mother from entering the kitchen or interacting with the cook. Her father however, would occasionally sneak Ria into the kitchen with him for a snack and a glass of milk. The young girl was entranced with how the cooks could take such boring-looking ingredients and turn them with a little effort into things that were so wonderful to eat. As she got older, Ria would upon occasion sneak into the kitchen late at night to fix her own snacks and would, in time, end up with 'her own cupboard' under one of the marble work counters.

• Being from one of the more affluent and active families on Nepleslia Prime, Ria mostly associated with a particular kind of folk, not terribly dissimilar from the ancient group named the 'jet set'. This particularly became true in her teenage years when Ria became much more social outside the more tightly-controlled family events. While she never quite felt like that was where she truly belonged, it certainly didn't stop her from taking full advantage of the various opportunities the lifestyle afforded to her.

• After one 'unfortunately-public indiscretion' too many, Ria found her social life suddenly restricted by her irate mother who was determined to forge her daughter into the perfect socialite trophy wife. Needless to say, Ria disagreed with this new life direction. Loudly. And repeatedly. To the point, in fact, that Ria refused to stay in the same room as her mother. Her father, in an attempt to bring some peace back to the household, asked Ria what she wanted. Somewhat flat-footed by the question, Ria responded with the first thing that came to mind - open and run a restaurant. Much to her surprise, her father didn't reject the idea out of hand.

• A deal was made, that night. Ria's father would protect her from her mother's machinations and even support her in securing the premises for and opening of her restaurant in Prime City. In return, Ria would do three things: graduate culinary school; obtain a qualification in business management; and, finally, complete a term of service in the Star Military of Nepleslia. This deal would be the primary drive behind the rest of Ria's teenage and young adult years.

• Fortunately, thanks in no small parts to her personal drive, hard work and bio-enhancements, Ria aced her way through schooling. After graduating from the Jack Miller Culinary School on Nepleslia Prime and obtaining a college degree in Business Management from the College of Management at Kennewes University, the twenty-one year old turned her attention to the last of the promises she had made to her father. To help her through the times ahead, Ria purposefully picked out the perfect spot for her restaurant and had even started working on its interior layout and design.

• Initially planning on serving as a military cook aboard a Nepleslian Space Navy vessel, Ria was scorned by another potential recruit present in the recruitment office who claimed 'the Marines would break a little girl like her in half on day three, if she even lasted that long!'. Suffice to say, this irked Ria mightily and, just to prove the jerk wrong, she requested a Military Cook billet in the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps. Not wanting to get any special treatment due to the family name and her father's service history, Ria enlisted under a variation of her birth name: Ria Rose. After completing the paperwork and swearing her Oath, Ria was given a date for her basic training. Needless to say, the protestations at home from her mother and siblings were loud and delivered at volume.

• Ria shipped out and completed her basic training in YE 44 at boot camp in Funky City. After surviving the wonderful period of time called Hell Month, Ria graduated from basic training and moved into her NSMC Military Cook occupation training which, thanks to her existing qualifications, she completed quickly. Upon completion of her NSMC training, Ria received orders to report to her new unit, currently stationed at Stenkagorad in the Svodog system, located in the south-west portion of DIoN territory.

In YE 45, Ria was given orders to report her new unit, currently stationed at Stenkagorad in the Svodog system. She had barely settled in with her new unit when she found herself almost immediately reassigned to a particular squad of the 309th Armored Infantry "Ruthless Riders", on a suicide mission.

Growing Up

• Deportment & Etiquette: From a young age, Ria was taught how to correctly behave as a young lady of means. This covered many fields, including poise, how to move with gracious elegance and ballroom dancing. She also learned the rules and requirements governing a variety of official and semi-official social gatherings, including banquets, balls, formal dinners and receptions. A portion of this training covered appropriate conversations for small-talk. Ria also learned how to quickly judge the worth of a character soon after meeting them.

• Cooking: Long her secret passion, Ria has been fascinated with the ancient art of turning bland and underwhelming ingredients into culinary masterpieces that tantalise the senses. As an older child, her efforts largely took the form of quick and simple items of confectionary and baking. Her teenage years moved more in to preparing a variety of late night snacks. At culinary school, Ria learned a variety of cooking techniques as well as just about every way in which different ingredients could be sourced and prepared. She also learned how to safely operate just about every piece of equipment to be found in the modern kitchen.

• Business Management: Ria has a college degree in Business Management and is thoroughly qualified at starting up and operating a small to medium business within Nepleslia. Her education also covered how to plan and execute business operations within the major foreign factions of the Kikyo Sector. Ria can handle the day to day financial operations of a business and also has an understanding of human resources, advertisement and management of social media presence.

Basic Training

• Communication: Ria is familiar with the basic usage and operational procedures of radio and communications equipment. She can make and receive transmissions to DIoN military personnel through compatible equipment both in and out of combat with the appropriate discipline and protocol to make their transmission clear and concise. She is able to both correctly and efficiently compile reports, complete forms, issue orders under fire, etc. Ria is skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc) used by the NSMC.

• Languages - Ria speaks Trade fluently, with an upper-class Nepleslian Prime accent, and with guidance from the NSMC is learning the Freespacer language, Freefolk.

• Combat - A large part of Ria's training was devoted to how to stay fit, how to shoot weapons and how to be able to deliver extreme, potentially lethal, physical violence without a moment hesitation. To maintain this level of physical readiness requires at least an hour a day devoted to a combination of physical and mental fitness and combat training. This can take the form of fitness routines, combat drills or field exercises. Ria has been trained to shoot accurately, both alone and as part of a squad. She is trained on the operation, maintenance and repair of all standard weapons platforms in use by the NSMC. Ria was also taught basic hand to hand combat and can recite from memory the contents of the P7 Pamphlet|P7]] combat manual. She is also trained in the use of Hostile, Aggressor, Raider and Golem armors.

• Strategy - Ria holds a basic understanding of military comportment, discipline and tactics. This includes how to professionally deliver and follow orders, standard NSMC combat tactics and the different operational requirements for fielding power armor or light infantry. She also has an understanding of combined arms operations - namely how to best utilise Navy and Marine airborne assets to support combat operations. Part of her training covered how to plan and execute non-standard operations such as commando raids, recon, boarding operations in a variety of environmental biomes. Ria was also taught how to requisition, wear and maintain her uniform. She also knows how to maintain and sleep in a hammock-style bed.

• Survival - Ria has been trained to survive, and potentially thrive, in hostile conditions. This allows her to live off the land without navigational aids or resupply as well as the ability to recognise, acquire and safely prepare edible flora and fauna found throughout the Kikyo sector. She can make a fire using rudimentary field-sourced tools and can survive in cold weather without relying on a fire. Ria is trained to quickly absorb the relevant information regarding survival conditions provided during pre-mission briefings and how to factor the provided information into her survival planning.

Occupational Skills (NSMC Military Cook)

• Galley/Field Kitchen Operation - As part of her occupational training, Ria was taught how to operate, manage and maintain standard DIoN military galleys and field kitchens. She is familiar with the operation and maintenance of all DIoN military kitchen equipment. Ria has been trained how to provide a standard meal to potentially hundreds of personnel at a single setting while maintaining quality and appeal of food. She has also received training in non-traditional methodologies of ingredient acquisition that may be required when in the field. Part of her training also covered the necessary forms and procedures for requisitioning equipment and ingredient supplies through the NSMC logistics network.
