Shiro-Class Spire

The Shiro-Class Spire is a vertical planetary megastructure and fortress designed to replace the aged Star Army Spire, Type 32 in YE 42.

Shiro means “castle” in Yamataigo (邪馬台語).

The Shiro-Class Spire are Star Army Bases for Star Army Fleets, Star Army Rikugun and other mission-specific units. The Spire can also form the central tower in a planetary defense grid when paired with defense towers.

About The Shiro-Class Spire

In YE 42, with the Kuvexian War in full swing it became a priority for the Star Army of Yamatai to upgrade its planetary defenses. The Star Army Spire, Type 32, had been in service for ten years and was long overdue for an update. The towering megastructure was a symbol of power on the worlds they had been placed on as they often towered over even the tallest skyscrapers and other base structures. The proposal of the Shiro-Class Spire was a joint collaboration of Ketsurui Fleet Yards and the Yugumo Corporation, the design called for the continued use of salvaged or recycled ships and increased defensive capabilities to assist in the defense of colonies and other planetary assets.
