In late YE 44, with increasing numbers of Norian personnel joining the Star Army of Yamatai after the Arrival of the Norians, the Lo'ken Institute and Ketsurui Zaibatsu wanted to address the comfort of those personnel entering service. The Norian physiological need to remain cool was obvious, and while the standard temperature of Star Army of Yamatai ships was survivable it was not considered comfortable. The outcome was the design of the Star Army Norian Undersuit, essentially a cooling suit that would be worn underneath the Current Star Army Uniforms. It would be immediately put into production by Ketsurui Zaibatsu.
The Star Army Norian Undersuit1) is made with a layer of woven Kinugoshi-ko with a meshing of layered advanced Hydrogel and Aerogel that provide cooling insulation which conducts heat away from the body and a thin hemosynthetic layer that manages some temperature regulation, and the breakdown of skin cells and maintains skin moisturization2). The cooling undersuit provides approximately ten degrees of cooling in comparison to the environment outside of it. The insulation layer will have to be drained and refreshed once every three months using the fabrication system to ensure the continued effectiveness of the suit. The suit is designed to be completely hidden beneath the uniform. Access points on the undersuit allow users to zip or unzip the groin region to make using the restroom easier. Getting in and out of the undersuit is easy, using zippers hidden along the seams of the front of the undersuit.
The Star Army Norian Undersuit comes only in one color Star Army Cadet Blue3).
The Undersuit is designed to be worn underneath the Current Star Army Uniforms by Norian personnel. The suit is also available without the hemosynthetic layer for civilians.
