A clone of Nepleslian Arms and Munitions that branched off of Zen Armaments, Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing is the primary contractor for the Nepleslian Reds. They make everything from common goods, starships, and everything in between.

Initially called the Nepleslian Retrofitting and Maintenance, Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing (NRM) started off in YE 28 as a hastily organized sub-division of Zen Arms specifically tasked with the upgrading of the Red's aging stock of M1 Demons. Then under the guidance of the brilliant and manipulative Dr. X, they managed to produce the Dark Demon Stealth Power Armor which soon became the standard issue PA in the Red military.

Flushed with success and additional funding, NRM expanded into a full fledged corporation catering exclusively to the Nepleslian Reds. The last Red/Green war started soon after in YE 29. Realizing the technological gap between the Reds and the Greens, the NRM turned to entry level Yamataian technology to produce the fearsome M4 Crooked Demon. In mid YE 29 the war was clearly in the Greens' favor, and Dr. X was entirely pessimistic of his Reds' chances of survival.

While promising an even more revolutionary Power Armor to turn the tide of battle, the NRM had begun secretly stockpiling and withholding critical war material while performing illicit side deals with Pirates to ensure their survival as a corporation.

This single-handedly bought an end to the war at least one month sooner than projections had predicted. Not that mattered to Dr. X as he had no intention to remain on Kennewes to share the fate of the Reds, instead planning on staking it out on the frontier. However as fate would have it, a portion of the Reds were offered a lifeboat by Yamatai before their untimely demise.

Following the Red remnants heading to the Yamatian system of Fujiko, the NRM found the planet ideal to rebase. Buying over the weakened Reds while sheltered by Yamatai, the self-styled “leader” of Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing now got to continue his work with impunity.

“What's the point of creation when it goes unseen? I want people to be awed, no… Not just awed, SCARRED! I want them to bear witness to my creations in both mind and flesh!” Dr. X

The Fujiko Star System's garden world was discovered to have a very dense atmosphere with an enormous amount of noble gasses (mainly helium) within the atmosphere. Which while habitable, required a number of mitigating technologies to allow humans to adapt. While the masses remained in orbit within “Migratory Fleet”, NRM started building the first of their manufacturing and research complexes within the mountains of the Nakama Mountain Range.

Once setup on Fujiko, NRM immediately went to work to making it comfortable for humans to live on the planet. Reducing respirators and pressure-resistant suits were quickly developed for the planet's population. The goodwill gesture was enough to keep Dr. X's head from being taken by the surviving Red leadership (for now) and a happier population not getting a reason to return to Nepleslian space to die.

Development was not as fast as Dr. X was expecting. Though while the corporation did not gain any real support from the Reds, even when they started getting regular “donations”, Dr. X did personally receive financial support. Thus he kept those that remained with him minimally employed producing cheap knock-offs of common products for the masses, while he continued with his personal projects to “Awe and Scar” the world.

By the end of YE 43, a number of Reds had gotten fed up with the management of Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing. Led by an enigmatic Militia Commander by the name of Sun Horatio, a hostile take over was initiated to remove Dr. X and his mad experiments by force if required. In an intense fire fight, the Red Task Force had neutralized or forced the corporation's security forces to surrender by the time they had reached the lab the dear doctor was holed up in.

Realizing his time was over, Dr. X executed his final plan where he uploaded his mind to the open net using salvaged Freespacer technology to continue his quest elsewhere. While he did purge a number of records from his databases, he left every little detail of his dealings with the Old Guard Reds and the finished work of a number of experiments should anyone care to use them. For his ego-maniacal ways, he did seem to care about the direction of the Reds.

Finally recovering and receiving a substantial grant from the new Executive Committee, NRM picked Alexis Wood as its new CEO.

NRM corporate goals have been re-aligned to the corporation's goals before it was stifled by Dr. X. Currently Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing focuses on:

• Design and production of ships, vehicles, and other feats of engineering.
• Design and production of weaponry.
• Research and development of uniquely Nepleslian technologies.

Though despite trying to go straight and narrow, certain habits die hard. Lacking sufficient resources in the past, NRM once regularly dealt with pirates for exotic parts and resources in return for their products. They were even increasingly willing to deal with Kuvexian, making sure to do so far from Yamatain and Nepleslian space for either to care. Now that they are getting sufficient resources, they have been distancing themselves from the criminal elements as much as possible and sending anonymized data on their ex-partners to the authorities in Yamatai.

Currently Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing is made of of 4 Operational Divisions. Each one is specialized to research and develop products for select markets.

Tasked with the creation and maintenance of cybernetics, the nature of their work allows the Medical Division to study, reseatch, and produce various products with biomedical applications. Drugs, nanomachines, and medical equipment are all within the Medical Division's mandate from NRM leadership.

The equivalent of NAM's AeroTech, SavTech, and TerraTech divisions combined, Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing's Engineering Division is tasked with designing and producing products for the greater market. Their main teams consist of the Defense Design Group (firearms, starships, vehicles, etc.), the Hong Cyber Group (AIs and computers), and the Civil Group (OEM and consumer goods manufacturer).

Created in YE 45, the Recovery and Salvage Division was created to take advantage of the Nepleslian Reds' growing expertise in salvaging. As repair and maintenance of ships is tied closely with salvaging, the division also sells services to clients to conduct field repairs and recovery of client's vessels.

Advanced Works historically was the only division that received any real funding under Dr. X's watch. This is due to their mandate to “Think, Imagine, Develop” new technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques to improve the corporation's product line.

Like NAM, the Admin and Logistics Division consist of accountants, clerks, and other support personnel that handing the administration duties for NRM. They are also tasked with coordinating and connecting with the various shell companies the Nepleslian Reds have created over the years in and outside of their current loaned space.

They are also tasked with the logistics and acquisition of supplies and equipment for the corporation.

Like all corporations, Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing owns and controls numbers forms of assets to maintain their business. They have everything from personal vehicles to large facilities.

NRM currently rents 2 Construction/Port Facilities' on Fujiko Development Corporation's Red Queen NH-H1 Hibiscus-Class Mobile Space Station. There are plans to construct their own shipyards in the near future.

The Operational Fleet of NRM consists of both logistics and combat vessels. Logistics vessels are used for internal transportation of cargo deemed too sensitive to be contracted to third-parties. Combat vessels privde security for NRM orbital facilities and logistics vessels.

Operating under the Recovery and Salvage Division, the Repair and Maintenance Fleet is responsible for both maintaining NRM naval assets and repairing/recovering clients.

While not prolific like megacorporations such as Yugumo Corporation, NRM does have a varied selection of products they either inherited from their Zen Armaments parentage, designed, or outright cloned (with various levels of permission) from other sources.

Never a strong suit for the Reds, the teams at NRM have in the past attempted to provide functional power armor to them.
