Standing at an impressive 7ft and weighing 140 pounds (63kg) Icarus is an above average Caelisolan physically with a set of large crow-like ebony wings he keeps immaculate and takes considerable pride in doing so.

His face is rugged and tough looking at first glance with cold looking blue eyes creating an obvious contrast to his wings and providing a splash of colour to his otherwise hard face. Icarus has a squared jaw and moderate sized squarish nose that imposes itself upon his features without looking out of place.

He sports a red and black mohawk that flows down into a long fringe and has a streak of red down his right wing the same colour as his mohawk. His face has no scarring or blemishes but is always serious looking. Icarus has the traditional family ebony jewel piercing in his left ear with no other modifications to his face.

His body is toned and athletic with a tattoo of a Skeletal hand holding a rose on his back as customary for the family males. Usually dressed in the Star Army Duty Uniform, Type 35, but can often be found in a long black coat and smart black pants (without the red trimmings) with a black top-hat off duty as he likes to keep himself looking presentable and adheres to a theme like his sister's.

Icarus usually has a cold personality and can lose his temper if pushed too far or backed into a corner. Preferring to stay away from mindless small-talk Icarus has often been referred to as “The Buzzkill” for his reputation of ruining social events however he will sometimes open up and become friendly when around those he trusts and has bonds with. He carries a slight grudge against Yamatai for the death of the father he never knew but still respects the truce and partnership the two empires now have, this also caused his strong commitment to his family and crew mates.

Icarus was born as a Plebeian into a military orientated household with his father serving as an enlisted officer and his mother in low level politics, his mother cared for him and his sister throughout his early life and tried to give them the best upbringing that she could in her situation. Throughout childhood Icarus had always shared the usual sort of sibling bond with Alexia but she had always been the more timid of the too and Icarus often tried to shield her from some of the nastier parts of the world, acting almost as a father figure for his younger sister who he felt needed it in her life.

Living through the First Elysian War Icarus' father was called away to fight and was killed in battle before he was able to lay eyes on his own son during the end of the Second Elysian War. With his father gone and his mother serving in a government workplace they were some of the first people to be sent off to Elysia Novus at the time of the exodus after the third war. Still too young to fight at the time of the Fourth Elysian War Icarus remained on Elysia Novus and continued his basic education.

Icarus enlisted into the Star Army in YE 30 following in his fathers footsteps having idolised the man he'd never met and completed his basic training then serving at the Blacksands military base for nearly 9 years moving his way up the ranks with the intention of continuing his father's work and reaching officer status which he eventually did, graduating from the Kyoto War College with the rank of Shoi in YE 38.

At the time of the Battle of Elysia Icarus had been stationed in Blacksands and was called in to assist with civilian evacuation efforts, during the conflict he pushed his slight grudge against Yamatai aside and worked with their forces to save as many lives as possible. Similarly at the time of the Second Mishhuvurthyar War Icarus served as a civilian aid once again helping those who couldn't defend themselves although it was Yamatai's citizens this time. The two conflicts helped him accept Yamatai and lessened the resentment he had previously felt against them after he had worked with their army and civilians and understood they were not his biggest enemy. After the conflicts had ended he was put into the Caelisolan project and given a new faster, stronger body to help him better serve the army.

Icarus is proficient in CQC having his basic training from his initial enlistment, keeping his skills sharp while in service in the base Icarus gradually perfected his skills in hand-to-hand and ranged combat.

As he moved through the ranks, Icarus showed an aptitude for leadership and before he finished in the base was promoted to an officer for his services and was trained to operate star-ships and to assist the captain in their duties.

Being trained to join SAMP Icarus was required to know the laws and regulations of Yamatai in order to police its citizens and military effectively, he had spent long hours studying and memorizing almost acing his final assessments.

Icarus always had a natural aptitude for leading and worked on his skill through his training and during his entire career, leading to various promotions and being in command of small teams before getting some extra training before receiving his rank of Taii and being eligible to become a First Officer.
