Operation Farsight was deployed after an incident occurred north of Yamatai involving the YSS Eucharis and forces of the Lorath Matriarchy in YE 34.

Tamahagane Mai approved the operation as the encounter demonstrated a hostile military presence in uncharted space.

Sensor data acquired by the YSS Eucharis for analysis showed a number of anomalies by the Scientific Studies Service (SSS). It was clear that some sort of significant event took place in the system. Dispersal patterns provided a window of 3-4 years. The SSS was able to refine the calculation to narrow the event to within three months.

Mission of Farsight: Proceed towards the specified star systems and perform remote sensor scans. Scanning to be performed at various distances. Visual and Electromagnetic scans directed towards the targets. Additional scans authorized at other intervals to provide more details.
