The MT-G3-E3503 Data Socket is a simple communications system and its literally little more than a plug for a MT-G3-E3502 Data Cable. They are manufactured by Murasaki Technologies and first became available for purchase in YE 36.

The MT-G3-E3503 Data Socket is a hardware interface for connecting two computer platforms by means of a MT-G3-E3502 Data Cable for data transfer through a direct physical connection. In conjunction with the data cable, the data socket provides a high-bandwidth data link with a maximum data transmission rate of 1 petabyte per second – which is typically a higher rate than is possible for most of the forms of wireless communication technology currently available.

All computer systems manufactured by Murasaki Technologies that are intended to be hand-held personal devices or larger have one or more such data sockets installed for use in connecting the device with another should the need arise.
