Athena/Tenjin Type Artificial Nepleslian

Inspired by an ancient goddess of wisdom and warfare (and bearing the name of their creators), Athena Type (Tenjin for males) Artificial Nepleslians were created to be strategic masterminds and scholars. Genetically optimized for superior cognitive processing, logical reasoning, and tactical thinking, they are often deployed as strategists, scientists, scholars, planners, and advisors. They appeared in YE 36 at the same time as the Raijin Type Artificial Nepleslian.

History

The Athena/Tenjin Type was a side development the staff of the Athena Foundation was more interested in during their development of the Raijin Type Artificial Nepleslian. With the lack of academic types surviving the Kennewes Offensive and not scalped from Nepleslian Research firms able to “repurpose” them in the eyes of the Greens, the foundation was in deperate need of staff and students to teach. Yamataians were generally not interested in anything the Nepleslians might have to teach, so the Foundation decided to solve the problem the “Nepleslian Red” way.

The Athena/Tenjin Type emerged in YE 36. Filling the role as academia within the population, the Athena/Tenjin is considered a Generation 2 clone where clone development has a focus on quality and specialization rather than sheer numbers the Reds once thought was key to winning.

Physiology

Athena/Tenjin Type Artificial Nepleslians can be male or female. Compared to the Raijin Type, Athena/Tenjin Type Artificial Nepleslians (known as Laozu when their genetic template is applied to Lily Type Artificial Nepleslian) appear like normal Nepleslians to those unfamiliar with them.

Genetic Engineering

With a combination of upregulating genes related to osteoblast activity (cells that build bone), myogenesis (muscle formation), and adjusting the expression of growth factors like IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1); the musculoskeletal system of individuals is 1.5 times denser than the baseline human. They also have an enhanced cardiovascular system with a stronger heart that operates at an efficient 54 beats per minute at rest thanks to modifying genes responsible for cardiac muscle function to contract more efficiently and greater strength. The sinoatrial node, the heart's natural pacemaker, has also been modified to ensure a steady heart rate while active such as fighting and running. This translates into individuals capable of lifting 1.3 (females) to 1.5 (males) times their body mass.

The genetic engineering of Athena/Tenjin Type Artificial Nepleslians truly shines in intellectual pursuits. Their neural connectivity is significantly enhanced due to the increase in the density and efficiency of neural pathways. This allows for faster and more efficient processing of information. Such enhancements are crucial for rapid decision-making and problem-solving, especially in high-stakes environments where strategic planning and quick thinking are paramount.

Additionally, synaptic efficiency in Athena/Tenjin Type Artificial Nepleslians had been improved.
