Extreme class Hover Board

XM3-48, (or Extreme-Board 48th Attempt) are hover boards, built by Yugumo Corporation out of repurposed starship hover technology. They were designed by Motoyoshi-Igarashi Yue in YE 44

The Extreme Class Hoverboard

The Extreme Class Hover Board or as Yue had chosen to call them the XM3-48, is a recreational type vehicle almost exclusively on Jiyu due to their extreme weather. It is almost because they have been made for the planet, but there is really no reason for those participants to bring them with them as they leave the world and go elsewhere even to other factions in the universe. Once purchased the Hover Boards belong to the buyer and not the seller.

The Hover Boards are capable of traversing a large, expansive on-land area quickly and they can also travel through the surface of lakes, and ponds, as well as oceans. Because it hovers, it isn’t affected by things like crevices, canyons, or large holes. Unless, of course, the Board’s speed is lowered t it may get affected by that, however safety mechanisms prevent injury.

Though there are no weapons attached, or even possibility of weapons being attached. The Boards emit a field that is capable of harming unprotected people and custom Boards may be able to emit an EMP which can be used as part of its decorative effect to show off the surfer’s skill. In terms of the type of Hover Board, like Surfboards, there are Long Boards, and Short boards.

Board Types

Long Hover Boards By the words, Long Hoverboard are longer length Hovering boards. 1) The length allows for more technology and a much faster speed, and when using it to surf, it allows the user to catch more waves. Unlike the shorter Hoverboards, while the longer ones are indeed faster, they can’t turn as well. That is not to say that they can’t turn at all it takes a much longer time to turn especially at faster speeds. But it helps with stability and would be less shaky at high speeds.

Short Hover Boards By the words, Short Hoverboards are shorter-length boards, fit for beginners, 2). The size allows for easier direction changing at a faster pace than a Longboard. They are more maneuverable, especially at their fastest hovering speed.

Key Features

• Traverse large, expansive on-land areas quickly, or even across the surface of lakes, ponds and ocean. • Able to knock people back • Really, really Fast • Customizable to various coloring, and even able to have artwork shown on it. • Seriously, Stupidly fast.

History

While watching a sports competition, Yue noted how there didn’t seem to be hovering Boards, and not only that, she listened as the athletes mentioned their willingness to go to the extreme. This resulted in her going to the Clan’s workshop to try and design something that she hoped that the Athletes would really like. Unfortunately, there were a lot of errors in the design, things she hadn’t taken into consideration. Such as the SLP errors the simulations kept returning until she figured out that the sweating caused friction and then she worked on a design 3) The errors were frustrating, but Yue had overcome certain adversity before, and she knew she could handle this.

After spending countless hours trying to figure out the problem, she came up with a new unique solution, at least she hoped it was a solution, and so, the Hovor Boards were created. She also chose to test it out herself 4) and she hired a few athletes willing to risk their lives to test out the Hoverboards too.

Later in early YE 45 A secretariat affiliated with the Empress's Ketsurui Clan had contacted her with a request for a Hoverboard in addition to the lighting cleaning and repair kits.

Appearance

The Extreme Class Hover Boards, are different in various sizes, even coloration, and design, as no two are alike in any way. In terms of the type of Hover Board, like Surfboards, there are Long Boards, and Short boards. The Length and Width depend entirely on the person using it, and what is right for them.

Similar to a Surfboard, or a skateboard, the surface has contours such as concaves or rail channels, which add structural rigidity and can be shaped into the board’s surface. While the tech to make the boards hover is of course inside the board, the board itself can be made of various materials such as Wood, Foam-like material, etc. The Hoverboards can also be made of Durandium. Wax comes in different degrees of hardness allowing its application in differing water temperatures.

Typically, it is a narrow plank shape, structure, and sturdy enough to support an individual with technology to keep them from falling even while in the air.

Interior

The operator stands in the middle of the board, with their right or left foot in front of them and their left or right foot behind them. They step on something that causes a field of transparent white energy to surround their legs keeping them up.

Onboard Systems Descriptions

Hover Board Control Feature

The Extreme boards use a specialized systems as part of its control systems

Activation

The Boarder12) stands in the middle of the board, and with their feet positioned in their desired places. The weight of their feet causes the board to activate, but before it even goes, it sends up a field of harmless gravity, which forms over their legs and then disappears as it comes up their bodies.

Safety

The gravity keeps the Border13) on the board, no matter how sweaty they may get, they will not be affected by friction caused by the sweat on their feet. The field also deals with any sweating, or any other elements related to water by pushing it to where it can be useful.

Control

The Boarder14) can control the Hover Boards, by tilting their bodies. By ducking with their arms back, they can move forward at an accelerated rate. Tilting back, the Hover Boards not only slow down, but can go in reverse. Like a surfboard, or Skateboard they can change their directions in a similar pattern.

Mobility Systems

As Part of the Mobility Systems the Hover Boards use two unique specific systems.

Boarder Control points

Unique to the Hover Board, Yue had to devise a way to control the Hover boards, as there was no steering wheel like a Car, and no logical way for the SPINE to be used. When Boarders stepped onto the board, their feet stepped on a special pressure point that conforms to their feet. It will also adjust if more than one is using the same Hover Board.

Hover Engine

The Hover Board uses a modified flight engine, created by Yugumo Corporation made smaller, and spread out in both the small, mid, and long boards. This was in part to prevent from making the board too big and difficult to carry, and also as a way to take care of overheating.

Power systems

The Power Systems has two special systems as part of its Power Systems.

Power Core

Like most Yamataian technology the Hoverboards run on Aether energy, via an Aether core, though the Core has a simple system to replace Aether, with another energy, and it will still work.

Redundant Power

On the off chance that the power core is damaged, or the boarder hadn’t quite had time to recharge, then as part of the redundant systems, it uses a form of Hydroelectricity using a combination of sweat, run-offs from the waves, and rain. This redundancy also allows for the cooling of heat generated and therefore prevents feet from getting burned.

Protection Field

A safety measure designed by Yue to protect the boarder.

Debris Prevention

The field protects the Boarder from any debris that may be picked up by winds, or waves, and prevents them from hitting or injuring the Boarder, and aids in keeping them from being distracted.

Anti-Wipeout

In order to prevent injury and a Wipeout, the Hover Board’s gravity keeps the Boarder on the board at all times, unless the board is being deactivated. In the event the board was hit with a force that would logically force them to tip over, the Board immediately rights itself.

Carry Weight

Yue knew that Yamatai had a vast variety of species amongst its citizens, and the Army. As a result, she attempted to make one of the systems capable of handling even the heaviest of persons. This means that a heavy robot, or even an ID-SOL could use one of the Hover Boards.

Cargo Capacity

no cargo capability, unless sacrificing pilot, and instead putting boxes on it. Not recommended.

Standard Equipment

Cleaning and maintenance comes separately, but noted for reccomeded.
