The Poku Saeruo Degonjo has had lawyers for as long as they have had laws. There were not many who held this occupation during the Norka (The Exodus), and even after it ended, most of the Jaeli (Sects) limited how many Galyt'a were among their number. This was due to the need for the personnel in other occupations. Many of the Galyt'a during that time held two occupations, with Lawyer being a secondary job. Since 126 CY (YE -593 ), the restrictions on the numbers of Lawyers were lifted. Typically, most Galy'ta come from the Kavoráy Rây'ai Jael (Oath Binders Sect).

Lawyers can also be found working in Embassies, attending to the bureaucracy of immigration and international relations.
