The Living Artillery Platform, nomenclature S6-LAP-1A, are a series of cybernetical enhancements to a host. The name leaves little to the imagination, it turns a certain individual into a living, breathing and walking heavy artillery platform. Being able to be fitted with a variety of high caliber weaponry that would normally require to be mounted on vehicles or power armour. The LAP features extremely intrusive surgery to fit the host with enhanced bone structure, recoil dampening properties and a link to the Geist for advanced targeting capabilities.
While this surgery is currently limited to the Tsumi due to their naturally durable bodies, R&D is currently researching to fit it to other races as well. The surgery, beyond adding support struts and enhancements, as well as enhancing the skeletal durability, consists of removing the arms of the host and fitting modular sockets on the shoulders. Due to the four arms a Tsumi possesses, the lower shoulder sockets are utilized for support to the ordnance that fits the upper sockets.
However, the loss of arms is compensated by offering free cybernetic replacements that fit the newly added sockets, offering autonomoty to the Tsumi whenever they are not in combat. Though having various auto-loaders available, a LAP requires a dedicated soldier with them to offer fire support, eventual maintenance during gun jamming, etc.
To compensate for the concussive force and prevent rupturing of the eardrums, the S6-OHCH is a nescessity for any LAP.
The aforementioned support struts utilize Galactic Horizon's Honeycomb Fabricators for storage. A LAP assuming firing position requires them to take a knee. The Honeycomb Generators then construct the struts starting from the hips and around the pelvis, up the lower back and from the shoulders. This however, makes it extremely difficult for the LAP to move around.
