Navian has a large build, with long legs and broad shoulders. Her hair is dark green with a bluish tinge, neck-length and wavy, but very orderly, even without brushing. Her skin tone is pale yellow, and her skin is remarkably smooth and featureless. Her ears are rounded, but almost have a point. Her eyes are cerulean. Her wing feathers are pale slate grey.

Navian is quiet, private, confident, and dutiful. If there's anything more important to her than serving her organization, it must be a spiritual matter, and she does not discuss spiritual matters with anyone. She is a defensive fighter, patient, and almost never angry, which doesn't make her much of a killer, outside of survival situations. Still, her implacability makes her a formidable opponent, at least by Elysian standards.

She makes friends easily, and is trusting. She also discards them easily, and doesn't show much outward sign of being troubled by betrayal, though at times she gets quieter than usual. She seems to lack desire for intimacy, or even basic contact with others, except as required for her role, though she does involve herself beyond the minimum necessary when engaging with trainers, training partners, squadmates, and superiors.

Navian was born a in YE 13 in the city of Jskita, Yamatai. She lived in poverty, dreaming of the day she would be old enough for military service, but when that day came, she could not meet the physical requirements, and was rejected. She had no success finding other employment, on or off-world, and was a transient low-life until the Caelisolan project at last caught up with her, in YE 34.

Once she'd been 'reborn' as a Caelisolan, she claimed to have no memory of her previous life, though she at least recalled her name and lifelong ambition to join the Star Army of Yamatai. After training non-stop in her new body for years, she was finally been accepted into the service, despite the blemishes on her past record–and despite disavowing her memory of that past.

Even before her first assignment, she saw action in 8月 of YE 38, when the shipment she received from the SCSC giveaway during the Candy Festival was hijacked by a gang of Nepleslian thugs, and used to stage a raid on the Uesureyan Fields, in which she was one of many casualties, and a Star Army shuttle was stolen. This was soon followed by her first assignment was the YSS Ryūjō, though before she ever reached the ship, her shuttle was attacked, and once again, stolen, although even without power armour, she was able to kill the first boarder and destroy an enemy fighter inside its home carrier before being incapacitated.

As the crew of the YSS Ryūjō were less than welcoming, the shuttle recovery mission succumbed to misadventure, and the belief developed that she had somehow brought a curse to them, Navian was retransferred to the Kaiyō, whose captain rejected this notion. After seeing light action in two missions, including the Star Army's first encounter with the L'Kor, she transferred again to serve on the YSS Storm, where she was relieved of the chains of commanding, and found herself a better fit for the crew.
