Larry Falke is a player character played by Alex Hart.

Larry is a tall man, about 6'3“, with blonde-ish hair and blue eyes. He is slim, as most pilots need to be, and has a slightly athletic build. He weighs about 150 pounds.

Larry is a relatively friendly man, reffering to those he regards highly as 'buddy'. On the battlefield, he is a pragmatist. His MO is to do what he needs to complete a mission, but no more and no less, and views targeting non-mission-critical enemies as both a waste of time and of life.

Unlike many natural-born aces, Larry had to work for years to achieve the level of skill that he has. Because of this he is far more aware of his capabilites and limitations than rookies, even prodigies, usually are.

Larry grew up on a Nepleslian world bordering the Abwehran Star Empire. Some time before he was born, his parents changed their name to a word they liked in the language of their “neighbors”. Falke, or falcon, was the new family name. Less than a year after that, Larry was born. His childhood was fairly normal, and because of the proximity to the border, one school program resulted in Larry having a pen-pal in the Abwehran Star Empire. Because he and his family lived on a border, military aircraft were a common sight. This sparked Larry's love for aircraft early, and later on in his life he lied about his age to enlist early in the Nepleslian Star Navy, which was accepting anyone they could get once it towards the end of the ongoing 2nd Mishhuvurthyar war.

The entire process of training was truncated, as the NSN needed personnel, and the depletion was personnel was great enough to let green recruits fly off without very much training except for how to get their fighters in the air. Most recruits, including Larry, were thrust onto the battlefield unprepared. His initial enthusiasm was curbed quickly as the romanticized image of fighter jocks that he'd had was shattered by the quick deaths of many of his comrades on the battlefield. Despite this, against all odds, Larry survived until the end of the war, making a name for himself with his erratic and unpredictable maneuvering, which earned him the nickname of “Pixy”.

After the war, Larry was assigned, much to his dismay, the testing department. For most of the time he was there, he tested new craft that were in development. While Larry found this fairly boring, there were frequent live-fire exercises against other pilots, who were usually more combat tested than he was, and in these, he excelled. During one exercise, the wing was shot off of by fire from his enemies, and he managed to keep his craft in the air and maneuver just well enough to take down the pilot who had shot his wing off¹⁾ before he limped back to base with his aircraft.

Larry was one of the experimental pilots who tested the Na-YF/A-6X(A) "Scythe" Stealth Fighter/Interceptor before it was sent off to Aquila Flight for final testing, and after that he was decided on as the main test pilot for the Na-F/A-6(b) "Sabre" Multirole Fighter/interceptor, and for several years tested various features, aerodynamic performance, and combat capabilities. As a test pilot, he contributed to the overall design of the craft through his feedback to the engineers, and soon the Sabre was ready for its trial by fire. Along with the Sabre, Larry was sent to Aquila flight.

• Communication: Larry is familiar with radio operation and procedures as well as several other common methods of communication such as laser transmission subspace radio operation. He is able to make transmissions to and receive transmissions through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Larry is fluent in Trade as well as Abwehran . He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. He is skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc).

• Fighting: During his short training, Larry received hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling and/or killing opponents) before being thrown into the horrors of the Second Mishhuvurthyar War. After the war, he followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. He is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance, as one would expect from a pilot. Larry is familiar with the operation of power armors, but is largely uninterested in their use.

• Survival: Larry knows how to survive in hostile environments. He can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. Larry can camouflage himself and is also familiar with guerrilla warfare tactics.

• Strategy: Larry can understand and give out tactical commands and work with his fellow pilots to follow those commands efficiently. He knows the importance of teamwork on the battlefield. Larry's experiences during the Second Mishhuvurthyar War impressed upon him the importance of good discipline and morale, and he is able to recognize the command structure even while under extreme pressure (combat, etc). Larry's experiences also made sure he is able to recognize ambush points, even on the fly.

• Starship Operations: As an experienced pilot, Larry naturally knows a lot about operating small craft and starships. In his time with the NSN, he's flown every small craft in operation at some point or another, and several of the different shuttle models as well. Larry has extensive knowledge of Air Combat Maneuvers, as well as zero-gee maneuvering techniques. Of particular note are his evasive maneuvering techniques which earned him his nickname. In addition to this, Larry is knowledgeable about each of the different types of crafts he operates, having at least serviceable knowledge into the mechanics of how each works. Larry also has a basic knowledge of the skills required for navigation with larger starships, such as stellar cartography, astronomy and other astro-navigation skills and maths.
