Falling under the distinct red panels of the Star Army Technician MOS, the Weapons Specialist is a career occupation of the Star Army of Yamatai which specializes in the maintenance and operation of starship weapon systems. Whereas the Star Army Armorer typically covers weapons used by personnel and those used by mecha and power armor, the duties of the Weapons Specialist fall within the spectrum of armaments typically found on starships. Due to this separation of duties, Weapons Specialists might be somewhat rare within the Rikugun but are expected be relatively common in its space-based counterpart, the Uchuugun.

The MOS code for the Weapons Specialist occupation is 05W.

In order to become a Weapons Specialist, a soldier must be an enlisted soldier in the Star Army of Yamatai and have completed standard basic training. From here, candidates must successfully complete a four month-training course in starship weapons technology and operation prior to receiving the certification.

The minimum rank for this occupation is Santô Hei and the maximum rank is Jôtô Heisho.
