Star Army Platoons and Fire Teams are the building blocks for Star Army Century. As such their composition depends on the type of unit it is. Fire Teams is an infantry only term. Within Armor and Aviation platoons, the sub-unit is known as a section.

• 2 Squad (4 Aircraft and 12 personnel)
  • 2 Aircraft
    • 2 Aircraft Operators (Santô Hei, one typically serves as aircraft leader with minimum rank of Jôtô Hei) or 1 pilot
    • 1 Crew Chief (Technician) (Ittô Hei)

Crew Chiefs are technicians in charge of the maintenance of an aircraft. In multi-crew aircraft, they travel along with the vehicle (gunships and shuttles), while they do not fly on fighters.
