Like a building within the Ascendancy Class Flagship, the hospital and medical laboratory is a section roughly three decks in height and is totally isolated from the rest of the ship, it has its own dedicated power generation systems, Hemosynthetic Conduit System, and the Forcefield-Nested Isolation Doors separating it from the rest of the ship are always closed, passage requiring the proper access levels.
Passageways are high (8m) horizontal ovals with translucent blue walls allowing view into labs, surgical bays, and examination rooms and have glossy black floors. Intermittent control panels, and access panels disrupt the smooth glassy flow and forcefield protected hatches provide access to maintenance conduits.
The primary level of the facility is devoted to outpatient treatment and administrative offices.
A reasonably sized work space for the CMO with a small desk with a white leather chair. The room is very well lit with white paneled walls except the for the convex forward wall that is the translucent blue sidewall of the corridor. Shelves for personal effects are behind the desk as well as some lower cabinets for general storage. The other side of the room consists of a small private laboratory.
A lab bench with some overhead cabinets for storage dominate the side of the room opposite to the desk. While not designed to handle major work it provides a quiet place for the CMO to do small scale analysis.
Similarly designed to the CMO's office without the Mini-Lab.
Located throughout the blocks of examination rooms. Designed to put personnel waiting to see the doctors at ease with comfortable couches and plenty of pillows. Several screens for watching the latest multimedia flick, or the latest news occupy the upper corners of th room.
Some waiting rooms are equipped with small cafes to provide refreshment and light snacks. In emergency situations the waiting rooms can be converted into additional examination rooms.
Examination rooms are generally used for outpatient procedures and scheduled visits. The rooms have the same transparent blue walls as the passageways with dark curtains that can be pulled shut for privacy. The doors to the examination rooms slide open from the right and have small control panels next to them for control of lighting.
Furniture includes a small desk, with storage drawers and cabinets above it. Each room has a hover chair with adjustable micro-graviton projection system to change its position in any direction; allowing the doctor an increased range of mobility. Doctors can interface with the ship's AI by telepathy.
