Star Army has many qualifications, which are certifications offered by specialized schools that provide advanced training in specific vocational areas. Star Army Training Administration is responsible for maintaining the schools and providing for their requirements and quality.

This is used by people who specialize in a specific skill that may not be their full time occupation. While many soldiers may have the skills without attending any schools, going through a school provides formal recognition of that skill. An occupation is what a soldier in the Star Army will do from day to day.
An occupation describes a specific job while a qualification describes a specific skill. For example: The Medic qualification shows that a soldier has the skills and knowledge required to be a medic. However, they might have chosen to acquire the qualification even though their occupation is in engineering. Also some occupations require certain prerequisites such as Star Army Medical occupations requiring the Medic qualification.
A soldier might also have knowledge not reflected by their qualifications. For example: A pilot might know how to fly a fighter, but not have received the formal training on how to do so or not have kept up with the continuing education requirements for it.
There is a wide variety of of Qualifications one can earn, ranging from fifteen minute online course to over three months of intensive field training. There are four parts of every qualification. A course, an exam, continuing education, and staff. The course is fairly simple it is the learning required to be able to understand the material. The exam is likewise flexible ranging from a simple quiz to a deeply involved two week field based scenario with multiple stages. Continuing education is a part of every qualification and needs to be kept up to maintain the qualification. Every qualification requires maintenance, teaching, and other staff to conduct the courses, ensure that the course and exams are up to date, and produce continuing education content.
Some qualifications have insignia that are authorized to be worn on the uniform, but not all do. For Example: Medic qualification is worn on the sleeve.
