Nebel is a planet located in the galactic southwest of the Kikyo Sector after being brought to the UX-29 System from another far-off galactic region. It has one main continent with lush pastureland and city spires that push into its ever-present jewel-toned cloud line, and is otherwise covered in calm oceans.

Nebel first began as a neighboring planet to Aingeal¹⁾ that the Aingealean people terraformed over a century. Near the end of that century, their world leader was implanted with a Parasite-Type Mishhuvurthyar and began diverting resources away from creating Nebel as a second home to the Aingeleans, and instead made it into a base for the Mishhuvurthyar.

In YE 45, the Star Army of Yamatai intervened when the crew of the YSS Kaiyō II alerted other Aingealeans to the Mishhuvurthyar threat and systematically destroyed what SMX occupancy they could. In this battle, the Enhanced Mishhuvurthyar in charge of the infestation bartered the lives of the million NMX Nekovalkyrja on the planet for its own. Giving up the fight so that the Neko under its control could live, the Enhanced-Type contradicted the consensus on Mishhuvurthyar morality.²⁾

That troubling quandary aside, the Aingeleans decided the planet they were terraforming had lost its sanctity with the Mishhuvurthyar presence on it and gave it to the crew of the Kaiyō in gratitude for saving them. Nebel was towed back to the Kikyo Sector and situated in the galactic southwest of the sector in the habitable zone of the UX-29 System. The NMX Neko wanted to retain some sense of independence, and are not yet willing to join Yamatai Star Empire. Still, the YSS Kaiyō II has vowed to offer it protection to any external threats.

“Unlike the blue marble that was Yamatai, the planet Nebel had varying hues of a purple cloud layer and minty stripes of a pastel pastureland peeking through around the hemisphere's belt.”

“With their ship MEGAMI and captain's words fresh in their minds, the away team would know to begin moving towards Nebel. The planet the Aingelians had been terraforming for the past century had hazy lavender and deeper amethyst cloud layers that wrapped around the planet like a jewel-toned shawl. Peeking through, especially around the hemisphere, were wide strips of green pasture lands and even blue oceans. But the Mishhuvurthyar were descending near the meridian of the northern hemisphere where a pair of twinkling lights poked through the cloud layer, even from their vantage in space.”³⁾

Serving as cultural meccas and city centers are large spire buildings that protrude far into the skyline, above the cloud layer: “Here and there, the pale clouds parted and they could see specks of ground far, far below. The spire itself was an inky black metal that had long arches and openings at almost every level. The misty haze that rolled across the planet flowed through the building as if it had been built more for the environment than those living within it. Moisture sprayed out as it hit the building in a few rare places, but for the most part glided seamlessly in and out of the spire's alcoves and egresses and its hollow center. The crew could see doorways to rooms that were taped off by billowing semi-transparent carpenter's sheets as well as strange statues that hovered in between levels near floating stairways.”⁴⁾

There are several livestock breeds similar to common domestic bovine, chickens, and rabbits. There are salmon-like fish in the oceans as well as orca and other large krill-eating whales. The planet has been equipped with insectoid pollinators for the food crops as well. Those crops include several grains and fruiting trees. There was only one type of flower—a bright pink daisy flower that the Aingeleans revere. Since inhabiting the planet, the former NMX Neko have planted a strain of carmine bellflower in remembrance of the bellflower-clad Ketsurui princess and the Star Army crew to whom they owed their lives. The addition has only added to the jewel-like tone of the planet when looked at from afar.

Built for cropland and resources, Nebel is a very flat, windy land. The exception are the gouging fissures in its green pasturelands that lead into deep ravines. Water usually runs through these canyons and long running cow fences run many of their length.

The deep blue oceans separate the continents pretty dramatically.

There is a shuttle system set up to move people and cargo between locations. Commuter transportation is especially between spires while cargo transportation is geared more towards crossing large ravines and oceans.

There are no military bases on this planet. All sensitive technology left by the Aingeleans, such as the teleportation units that served as a technological basis for subsequent Yamataian development, was seized by the Star Army.
