History

Animax was created in YE 28 by it's still-remaining President, the well-known artist Seizuko Kani. He had been in the employment of Yukosfilm's Italic Cartoons Productions since early YE 20. When the company split from Yukosfilm in YE 28, Kani was left out of the company due to personnel cuts. After several talks with former Producer Ludwig Hauptmann and director Jonathan Glascon, Kani formed Animax. Hauptmann became Chairman, while Glascon was made chief of productions.

Their first picture, The Ants, was a short film, and shown in front of the popular Time Travellers 4. In YE 30, they created the first full-time computer animation film, Adventures of the Tin Man, which remains one of the most successful animated series of all times. Although over the years both yukosfilm and stardust_pictures have made bids to buy the company, Animax has thus far remained independent. The title of Animation Supervisor was created in YE 31, to coordinate the entire animation team, while the duties of production chief shifted further unto sound design, casting and music.

Nevertheless, Animax has remained a close partner to Yukosfilm, with most of it's films released by the company, as well as Italic Animation, it's former parent company of sorts. Animax has made a name for itself with the high quality put out of their films and their well-known animation design. They are also known for their short movies, which are played before their features. However their films generally surround the comedy genre, they are diversifying their film theme, noticeable by the YE 38 release of Wild Life, the company's first western, and first animated western ever.
