Emil stays very well groomed; immaculate, even. Every last bit of his work is neatly documented, commented, and perfected to the extent that it becomes almost a work of art, and it is reflected in how he keeps himself.

Practicing traditional sports, he keeps himself in good shape. He subconsciously gestures around while thinking, as if drawing on some imaginary board while holding an imaginary marker.

For such a well-kept Elysian, Emil seems to despise his homeland. However, if he was exiled, it’s not on his record. His speech is also very well refined, with subtle hints of baritone — polite, even?

Yet there is no doubt about it in his undertones. He certainly thinks very highly of himself, although how deserving is he of it, is certainly questionable. He certainly thinks at the very least, so perhaps it is justified.

It is obvious that he adores science, engineering, and progress. When asked during interviews on why he took an interest in engineering, he simply answered, “Because I wanted to.”

Geniuses all around like his young self that could have fixed the messed-up Elysian world should they have been allowed to, so many geniuses like his parents in R&D facilities. Yet when they asked, they were denied from doing so. Instead, they were told to trust in so many irrational little things and their horrible ego.

And then came the budget cuts. One by one, the government grants disappeared. The geniuses slowly disappeared from the facilities, vanishing into irrelevance due to “desperate measures.” So he watched Elysia lose their wars against Yamatai when he knew they could have helped win them but wasn’t allowed to. He was a smart child, yet intelligence seemed to be a falling thing in their nation.

Then, the Mishhu arrived.

The strategy never changed. Swarm them, be outswarmed, die. Such a foolhardy tactic, driven by fools who had no clue what they were doing — until Yamatai turned the tides. Now, there was a land that valued progress as much as he.

Military school was his goal now, science and military engineering. The black swan, Emil, who had been once born as a happy child to a scientist and engineer in YE 15, now turned his entire effort to aiding the art of conflict. Graduating from a military school with honors as an advanced engineer and technician, he was ready to enter the Star Army.

Emil has learned how to use basic radios and can transmit and receive through headsets, starships, power armor, and starships in any situation. Emil is also fluent in Trade (language), Yamataigo (邪馬台語), and Seraphim. His speech is slightly accented towards Seraphim, however.

Emil has received training in hand-to-hand combat, as well as the ability to utilize weaponry, during his training. From his early days of sporting, he can also throw a javelin quite well.

Due to his education and further training, Emil has learned how to operate any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS. He has also learned how to repair and debug most computing systems.

Emil, as a part of his job, has studied quite thoroughly in mathematics, having studied high up into multivariable calculus, Fourier series, and probability and statistics.

Emil has studied multiple subjects of engineering, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical, all three having been mastered to a respectable degree.

As a side effect of studying mechanical and electrical engineering, Emil can operate the machines and diagnose the wiring necessary to perform maintenance and repair tasks.

As a side effect of studying chemical engineering, Emil has learned what not to do in a chemical lab. But what shouldn't be done in a lab may or may not translate to what should be done in a given battle. Resourcefulness ensures victory.
