Sanjaya has dusky dark skin and a smooth, mellow voice to match. He wears his facial hair clipped to make an upside down triangle under his lips and has brown hair. He stands at over six feet and uses his stature to his advantage often. His thick black eyelashes are often low over his golden eyes.

On the surface, you might mistake Samjaya as some stereotypical Ivuori straight from an enclave, and though he wouldn't resent you for its not an accurate summary of his personality. Oh for sure, he has many qualities you might expect. Their is a certain aloofness to his demeanor, at least when in a situation that demands seriousness. He tries to provide carefully cultivated sense of clinical detachment from the situation at hand, attempting to reason out a response or solution as a dispassionate observer.

His stoicism seems to fade away when presented with an object of academic interest, somewhat of a rarity since he left the life of a scholar, then an analyst, for the life of a soldier, and can animatedly talk your ear off about the most opaque subjects. A professional curiosity for the new and wondrous has stuck with the man throughout his life, even when it comes to fields outside of his expertise. Outside of his job, especially when around people who haven't grown up in an enclave, he can often come across as a recluse. This has less to do with any shyness or lack of desire for his companionship on his part than it does with an inability to read social cues as well as an air of elitism that few people tend to find appealing.

Samjaya was, perhaps ironically, born in a literal Ivory Tower. Far away from the Iromakuanhe's adopted homeland of Maerkerin or lush Hlarai, he was born in the Hoshida peaks region of Mazerin. As is usually the case with his people, Samjaya's parents were coworkers, technicians for one of the commonwealth's most advanced installations that searched for other life in the universe. In that regard, his origins have alway carried a sort of bitter irony to him. One of the of the key things he remembers of his early childhood was the passion his parents had for finding new life out their in the galaxy, evidence of other civilizations that their history told them were out there among the stars. He never dreamed that of dread he'd fill when their wishes were granted, or the role he'd play after first contact.

The character is proficient in both defensive and offensive hand-to-hand techniques as well as the use of several hand weapons, including knives, pistols, rifles and light explosives such as grenades. He is in excellent physical form, with sufficiently high endurance to survive situations such as elevated G-forces.

The character has had extensive courses in the use of NI systems aboard the Organoid craft employed by the Astral Vanguard, and understands how to properly utilize his own entry ports to interface with compatible systems. The use of standard-issue electronic devices and conventional computers have also been a part of his education.

The character is capable of using all standard communications found in the Iromakuanhe Astral Commonwealth, in particular those employed by the Astral Vanguard. This includes laser, radio and MASC-enhanced variations in various formats and media. He is fluent in Saalsari and Haidasari, and can speak, read and write it correctly. He can communicate clearly even while under fire or in other unnerving situations.

The character is capable of basic medical techniques, including everything up to first aid, emergency care such as CPR or the Heimlich maneuver and the administering of preprepared medicine, such as painkillers or stimulants.
