Ishida Hiroko is a Player Character played by rynol and is a PA Pilot on the YSS Senbu, as part of Pride Wing.

Build and Skin Colour: Hiroko has a yellowish skintone, and her build is light and airy, seeming almost avian in countenance.

Facial Features and Eye Colour: Her face tends to be a bit angular and well-defined, and she has cloudy grey-blue eyes.

Hair Colour and Style: Hiroko has dark indigo hair, which she wears with a single wide clip, close to her head - which ends up making for hair that's tight up top, but fans out wide below.

Distinguishing Features: Other than her build and style, Hiroko generally only stands out on account of seeming very lithe and graceful - almost too much so, seeming to move in a way that seems unreal. Yet it's not from some sense of perfection or something goofy like that - it's just… strange.

Personality: Seeming calm and refined, Hiroko's presence is one of grace and silence. She often prefers intellectual pursuits and military affairs, and can seem a bit too rigorous, precise, and inaccessible to some. Add to that her desire for quiet and avoidance of 'fun' in the traditional sense of it, and you get a woman with a very developed soldier's mentality - even though she's fresh out of the academy. This seems odd, because she isn't really a hardline drill sergeant either, but rather… just very aloof.

Though she can be hard to reach off the battlefield, on it Hiroko is a singular force. Adaptable and used to working with competent wingmates, she tends to move fluidly from one situation to another. She believes in staying on the move, staying a bit unpredictable, and working with as perfect a harmony as possible. Despite her military focus in personal life, Hiroko often prefers to use nonstandard tactics and unorthodox solutions - when it's wise to do so.

Likes: Remaining focused, the philosophical concept of Wu Wei, peace and quiet, competence. Dislikes: Energetic people, high error rates, irrationality, distractions. Goals: Living to achieve a nice rank - though perhaps deep down she wants to pursue some set point of greatness in her hobbies of strategizing and cartography.

These are the people that Hiroko has met long enough to get a good, solid impression of their personality. Of course, some characters she might have even fought alongside, but hasn't heard and seen clearly enough… Others, she's only met once, but could get a read then and there.

Ushimo Sakaki - Sakaki has evaded Hiroko's understanding for a while. Quiet, and warrior-like… but yet… She seems to want to tag along with Hiroko, and Hiroko has in turn accepted the fact that they're some kind of dynamic duo - whether they're racing to witness Shizuka beating the living daylights out of Shin, or Sakaki backing up Hiroko on the attack.

Shin Nekki - Shin has decayed in Hiroko's eyes since numerous incidents. After being involved in a weapons discharge along with Rin, and then a brutal fight with Shizuka, Hiroko has almost written him off completely. Loose cannon, off his rocker - et cetera. She is shocked he hasn't been discharged yet. Unless Kuriko's need to care for his mental ills is why…

Hara Saruwatari - Who is this guy, really? Don't ask Hiroko, she doesn't know. Hara to her seems strange, a soft-spoken boy that takes some interest in things, but doesn't do much to stand out. Which is striking considering her own passivism.

Shifuda Kuriko - Time in battle and out of it with Kuriko have changed how Hiroko sees her. Hiroko realizes the depth of Kuriko's personality, though she still wonders about how she acts at times. Hiroko gets the sense that Kuriko is trying to get her to open up more - not hurt by the fact that they tend to run into each other a lot.

Nicholas Saiga - Nick is still mysterious to Hiroko, but… his skill is proven. His obvious relationship with Shizuka is proven. His dry wit and apparent bouncing off of Kuriko are also duly noted. Yet she feels she knows so little about the almost-only Geshrin in the Star Army…

Shizuka Endo - Commander of the Senbu… Hiroko has a mixed reaction to her, and in some ways sees her as a distant command figure. This is not because Shizuka isn't hands-on… But because of her energy, her aggression, and boistrous nature, all things that are nearly alien to Hiroko. she of course respects Shizuka, but can't easily relate to her personality.

Sakiyurai Masako - Hiroko doesn't understand Masako. Big-breasted, prone to posturing and messing with the minds of the mostly-male Gold Wing… all of these actions make Hiroko think of her as somehow irresponsible or immature or something. Yet she doesn't dislike her, Hiroko's just… confused.

Having been born immediately before the plague, much of Hiroko's childhood was filled with the various conflicts throughout Yamatai, and she grew up surrounded by military people, military terms, constant news of war, etc. She stayed, though, in the midst of things, living with her parents in relative safety. They did not want her involved in the war, thinking her too bright, too serene, to waste on warfare. But as a teen Hiroko witnessed the wars against the Mishhu, and realized that there were some things that needed to be fought - more to the point, that the best way to advance in Yamataian society was through the military. Against the wishes of her parents, she finally joined the Star Army very recently, in early YE 30, and began her path forward. Educated well by her civilian years and tempered by enduring war from the sidelines, Hiroko brought a different perspective to the field of battle…

Hiroko arrived on the Senbu only a single night before battle. She had met only the newest members of her wing at first, immediately getting hit by loud ranting on the part of one Shin. On the other hand, she also met Sakaki, the calm, militant swordswoman. But Hiroko being the kind of person she was, she hadn't paid tons of attention to them, absorbed in her reading. Other members of the team started to filter in over time - Kuriko, the freshly-promoted CO of her wing, Nicholas, the ship's XO… But there was little time to relax, as the pirates began a sudden attack in the midst of a sortie out against them. Uniting with P'u (The Uncarved Block), her Mindy armor, for the first time, Hiroko joined Pride Wing on the mission outwards, as the team assembled. They set out to rendezvous with, and then capture, an enemy shuttle that was escaping towards a pair of powerful Chiharu-class flagships. A fierce Red Mindy came out to trouble the group, and everything went downhill from there, as energy bursts flew. Many rash attacks and miscoordinated blows were let off, and in the end, Rin's arm was a price to be paid in the turmoil, as Shizuka burst in to defend her personal wing…

Hiroko is trained in the use of standard SAoY OSes and has limited experience with civilian systems of other manufactures.

Hiroko has full weapons training, and specializes in power armor operation.

Hiroko is fluent in Yamataian, Nepleslian, and is fully trained in standard military signaling and comms procedures for the SAoY.

Hiroko had basic math training, but also knows basic calculus and simple physics - enough to sometimes exploit laws of motion or the principles behind her typical weapons of choice.

Strangely enough, Hiroko is well versed in navigation and stellar cartography, and in a pinch could act as a substitute for the normal crewman for such a position.

Hiroko knows various philosophical systems very well, and in fact tends to live by some of the precepts of Daoism. Likewise, she can quote all manner of old philosophers… and have some idea what they're talking about.

Long nights in simulators and playing Go have taught Hiroko a thing or two about strategy. She's familiar with command structures, can use resources properly, and can employ sophisticated tactics. However, being a fresh recruit, she has no actual leadership experience, only raw tactical skill.
