Aoba Akasa is a strong woman of Yamataian-Uesureyan ancestry with neck-length black silken hair with diagonally crosscut bangs. She is in peak physical condition and highly observant. Akasa doesn't like to waste time and doesn't like being patronized. She's extremely driven and goal-oriented and hyper-loyal to the Yamatai Star Empire. She is well-educated and strategic-minded.

Akasa is an award-winning martial artist skilled in several schools of jujitsu and karate and can ruthlessly dispatch enemies with a swift, brilliant fist strike. In addition to her impressive physical combat skills, she is also proficient at ranged combat using most Star Army Weapons and prefers to kill her enemies with single headshots instead of the standard body shot, and rarely misses. She considered this more humane but it's also because she's absolutely ruthless in combat. All of these qualities make her one of the Star Army's finest specimens of badass infantry.

Akasa is frustrated by lazy people. She doesn't have a lot of experience in the way of romance because both she and the other people on her “level” don't really have a lot of free time or time that's not focused on training or work. She is suspicious of people who find her attractive. She likes to be someone strong people can lean on during tough times, sometimes literally.

Akane is currently single as a combination of spending most of her time training and having high standards. She's hard to keep up with.

Akasa is descended from a long line of samurai warriors and soldiers. She as born in Ketsurui no Iori in YE 20. She started her martial arts training at age 4. As a teen she trained with the Ketsurui Samurai and was set to become one until they were split off from the Star Army in YE 40. Instead, she joined the Star Army at age 21 and completed her training in YE 42 and was assigned to First Fleet's YSS Battle Of Yamatai. The military is her lifestyle of choice.

In YE 43, Aoba fought in the Battle Of Glimmergold against the Navy of the Interstellar Kingdom Of Kuvexia, killing 19 enemy soldiers in power armor in combat (6 of which were melee kills). Her extreme bravery and combat skill earned her a Red Tessen. This earned the attention of Taisho Ketsurui Yui, who called her an “honorary Nekovalkyrja” and promoted her to Nitô Hei on the spot.

In YE 43 she earned a promotion to Ittô Hei.

In YE 45 she earned a promotion to Jôtô Hei.
