Simpleton Rebellion

Due to the attrition of the The Binary Blood War, the rule of the rich and noble blooded of the Tsumi had grown weaker, while some of the poor saw a chance to grow fat on the war by brokering information and selling out non-followers. This led to the start of the restoring of the gap between rich and poor. However, Tsumi psychology dictates greed in which they always desire more. The rich wanted to remain in power, while the poor wanted to become the new rich. When the Simpleton rebellion went public, predating the YE calender, stealth operations, geurilla strikes and suicide bombings grew to a large conflict.

History

An armed uprising that was severely underestimated led to the poor capturing Anella, a major city, publically executing the rich officials and broadcasting it on public television. From there on, the rich planned on returning a propaganda campaign, calling them idiots and simpletons for their uprising. They would never succeed.

Commander Ballas Marn, the leader of the uprising, embraced this campaign and named their movement the Simpleton rebellion, stating they had no clue and didn't care about how Tsumi politics worked. They were out to carve their place in society and keep it drenched in the blood of so-called rulers.

Another legend rose, however; a female warrior capable of commanding legions, but also someone who emerged victorious from multiple Karraks. This warlord goes by the name of Mithrandis Ustarra-ae Bariss. She, along with several other prominent nobles, fueled the war economy and brought the Tsumi culture back in balance and crushed the Simpleton rebellion, not stopping by just eliminating the rogue cells, but by executing all known collaborators and bombing Anella to the ground, to prove a point and kill any potential sympathizers still holed up in the city.

Effects

The Simpleton rebellion, unlike the binary blood war, wasn't a war of attrition. It sent a message that the poor shouldn't overstep their boundaries, which led to a lot of cruel punishments and executions. Ballas still lives to this day, as Mithrandis' pet. His tongue, his eyes, and every limb surgically removed, kept alive both as a trophy and an example.

Due to Mithrandis being a legend during the years of the Simpleton rebellion, she has received a large following as a warlord, after which she decided to push for the throne, becoming the Sovereign after a lot of rich Tsumi boycotted the throne. A short duel ensued where Mithrandis emerged as a clear victor, crowning her supreme Sovereign in YE 3, just a year after ending the Simpleton rebellion. A lot of Tsumi have come to notice she rules with an iron fist. Fair in court, yet relentless in punishing any that oppose her, granted her the nickname of Iron Sovereign.
