Nomenclature: AE-N7
Price: 5 KS per tablet (typically in 20 pill bottles)

History

Oxyazine was developed as a direct response to the rampant drinking culture among the Nepleslian, which often leads to medical emergencies. Advancer Enterprises identified a glaring need for a potent, fast-acting detoxifying agent that could be easily administered in emergency settings. The development process involved extensive research, including in vitro studies and animal trials, before progressing to human clinical trials. Upon successful completion and Imperial approval in late YE 45.

Usage

Oxyazine operates by forming complexes with harmful toxins present in the bloodstream and liver. These complexes are then metabolically transformed into non-toxic compounds that can be safely excreted through the kidneys. The drug is particularly effective in treating acute cases of drug overdose, alcohol poisoning, and exposure to hazardous industrial chemicals.

The standard dosage for Oxyazine is a 200 mg tablet, administered orally. In severe cases of intoxication, a second 200 mg dose may be given after a 4-hour interval. It is imperative not to exceed a total of 600 mg within a 24-hour period to avoid adverse effects. The drug is priced at 7 KS per tablet, with a typical bottle containing 20 tablets priced at 140 KS.

Side Effects

While generally well-tolerated, Oxyazine can cause mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. These side effects are usually transient and are part of the body's natural process of eliminating neutralized toxins. In rare instances, allergic reactions may occur, manifesting as skin rash, itching, facial swelling, severe dizziness, or respiratory difficulties. Immediate medical intervention is required in such cases.

Overdose

An overdose of Oxyazine is defined as the ingestion of more than 600 mg within a 24-hour period. Exceeding this limit can result in severe gastrointestinal complications, including internal bleeding and ulcer formation. Immediate medical attention is crucial and may involve gastric lavage (stomach pumping), administration of activated charcoal to absorb remaining toxins, and intravenous rehydration to counteract dehydration caused by gastrointestinal symptoms.
