While the Schirmherrschaft is responsible for Planetary Defense, it is also the primary Law Enforcement Agency of the Abwehran Star Empire. Dedicate to enforcing the law on all Abwehran-held worlds, the Schirmherrschaft organizes its Law Enforcement by City, Province, and Central.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is the investigative division of the Schirmherrschaft's law enforcement operations. While local units are responsible for investigating local crimes, the CIB is responsible for planet-wide investigations as well as investigations into internal affairs and government crimes. There are branches of the CIB in every major city on a planet with each branch holding 30 personnel for administrative and investigative purposes and 20 ten-man teams of S.T.U.G personnel for a total of 230 individuals per branch.

Probably the most complex organizations of the Schirmherrschaft's law enforcement operations, the City Marshals are responsible for enforcing laws and investigating crimes in their assigned cities. Each city has a single Department that is divided into Divisions based upon city blocs. The Schirmherrschaft attempts to have at least Two enforcers per 1000 citizens in a city population.

Each Division is further divided into Sections based upon their role in the Division. The largest of the Sections is the Patrol Section, who are the individuals out in the field. Normally paired up, each pair is assigned an area of their assigned city bloc they are to patrol for criminal activity. They are always the first on the scene for any situation.

The Investigative Section is responsible for investigating crimes in their city bloc. These Sections are normally divided up into Bureaus based upon the crime they investigate, ie: Homicide, Theft, etc. A Special Operations Section contains units like Canine, Logistics, and Traffic. The final Section of a Division is the Relations Section, which is responsible for Training, Volunteer Management, Communications, Psychological Services, and Media Relations.

A more simplified version of the City Marshals, the Provincial Constabulary is a combined patrol and investigative force for the provincial regions of a planet. They have no Traffic sections in their organization and must rely on the CIB's STUG teams when necessary. The Schirmherrschaft attempts to have One enforcer per 1000 citizens in a province.
