The Discourse Party is a political party created by Iemochi Seinosuke in YE 44. It is the minority, opposition party in the Senate of Yamatai, and advocates cultural preservation for the non-majority species in the Yamatai Star Empire.

In YE 44, Senator Iemochi Seinosuke made an empassioned speech in the Senate of Yamatai, noting that Premier Motoyoshi, who was elected by default due to lack of opposition voices, was becoming involved in Senate politics despite the required impartiality of the Premier's position. This caused the resignation of the Premier and made it clear that the non-supremacist, minority members of the public needed a protected voice, and that the Senate should be a protected space for non-majority views. The Discourse Party was created for this purpose by Iemochi Seinosuke, the Senator and Governor of Virginia, to allow Senators from non-majority-demographic systems to speak more freely without being shut down by the Premier or other Senators.

The platform of the Discourse Party is as follows:

• Preservation and respect for cultures and traditions of the suzerainties and worlds that make up Yamatai Star Empire, especially non-urban and non-core worlds.
• Pro-Minority, giving voices to those not in the Clan system, or not part of the majority species in the Empire.
• Pro-Representation, moving mandates from exclusively archetypal imperalist Nekos to citizens who are from an array of cultural backgrounds and beliefs, especially on worlds that have different species and cultures.
• Pro-Local Government, delegating powers and mandates held somewhere between the Empress and local government, to local government.
• Pro-Civilian Government, lobbying to restore civilian powers held by the Star Army of Yamatai, to the people, such as control of trade and healthcare.
• Anti-Invasion, encouraging only non-violent ways to expand the Empire, given the history of current suzerainties and other history.
• Reduction in the lobbying power of megacorps in civilian politics. This includes the destruction of government-enforced monopolies that stifle free trade, innovation and competition.
