Proposal #57 - Treaty with Gashmere was submitted to the Senate of Yamatai in YE 27 by Ketsurui Yui and passed without opposition.

Whereas the Yamatai Star Empire wishes to recognize and create a state of peaceful and mutually prosperous relations with the General Assembly of Gashmere, we mutually agree to enact and follow to the terms of this treaty:

1. The General Assembly of Gashmere will now be recognized as a self-ruling state under the Yamatai Star Empire. This does not require any change in government or leadership. All citizens of Gashmere will be recognized as citizens of the Yamatai Star Empire with the rights and freedoms thereof.
2. The Yamatai Star Empire and General Assembly of Gashmere agree to maintain friendly, honest, and peaceful relations and communications with one another. The Yamatai Star Empire and General Assembly agree to make at least one diplomatic communication with each other per month.
3. The Yamatai Star Empire and General Assembly of Gashmere agree not to commit malicious acts against one another or employ others to commit malicious acts against one another.
4. Both the Yamatai Star Empire and General Assembly of Gashmere will recognize all ranks and titles bestowed on a person by the Yamatai Star Empire, its member states, or The General Assembly of Gashmere.
5. The Gashmere Planetary Guard's space forces will be integrated into the Yamatai Space Self-Defense Force. Trainers from the Star Army of Yamatai will instruct the Kodian personnel on use of Star Army of Yamatai weaponry and technology. The goal of this will be to enable the people of Gashmere to continue to provide their own defense through a new fleet of the Yamatai Space Self-Dense Force. The YSSDF fleet will be permanently stationed in the Gashmere system and will not be used as part of the Star Army of Yamatai.
6. The Yamatai Star Empire will provide a large shipbuilding facility to compensate for any lost employment or function to the shipbuilding industry caused by integration of the Gashmere Planetary Guard's space forces into the Yamatai Space Self-Dense Force. This shipbuilding facility will be aimed at producing civilian vessels. Shipbuilding experts from Yamataian shipyards will provide training and guidance on the use of the shipbuilding facility and on designing and building starships.
7. In event of a large-scale attack on the planet Gashmere by hostile forces, the Star Army of Yamatai will come to the aid of Gashmere's YSSDF fleet. In the event that Gashmere is rendered uninhabitable, the Yamatai Star Empire will provide a new home for the Kodians.
8. The YSSDF's military bases on Gashmere will provide support and supplies to Star Army of Yamatai ships as needed.
9. This treaty is valid immediately upon approval by both governments (or the leaders thereof) and lasts forever unless both parties agree to nullify it. Both parties must approve any modifications to this treaty.
