As the captain of the Durandium Phoenix, Captain Sheath is responsible for the entire crew aboard the ship. The safety of the crew is one of their most important duties.

First officer

The second highest rank on the ship, and likely would be the one the Captain delegates tasks to. The First officer also alerts the captain to certain situations that may occur without the captain knowing2). The delegation also comes from them, as they order Mission Operations on tasks, and also Security to apprehend certain individuals.

Helms Operator

The Helms Operator is a big fancy Pilot with an officer rank. They are responsible for making the ship move, which in turn leads those in the fleet. They have to be attentive, and aware of their surroundings, as well as able to listen for issues in travel. Also Due to some NDC influences, the Helm’s Operator also uses navigators

Sensors and Navigation

The Sensors Station allows for the crew to see outside the ship, they will be able to detect planets, asteroids, and other ships in the vicinity. Since the Colonial fleet is indeed massive, the sensors are carefully tuned not to pick up the other allied ships. Of course, they are picked up if they get too close to the ship. Sensors and Navigation go hand in hand, as the Navigators also use sensors to pick up where the ship had appeared and where astral bodies were. This is also done with the Astrometrics Bay on the ship.

Communications Station

The Communications Station allows for inter-ship communications, and receiving of messages and other data. Orders from Commanding Officers are also transferred from the Communication Station.

The Weapons are the Offensive tools of war used by the ship to cause damage to enemy ships. But they aren’t just the lasers and missiles, but also the Cyberwarfare suite attached to the ship. For the weapons, the personnel in charge of this station are carefully checked.

Cyberwarfare Operator

Led by EX28-C666, the [Cyberwarfare Operators are a series of thousands of Infomorph AI units without bodies. This Digital army is capable of digitally transferring themselves to a targeted ship and causing problems for the crew. They are capable of engaging in some of the following aggressive behaviors when aboard hostile ships.

  • Body Hijack
  • Data Theft
  • Sabotage

Non-Bridge Crew

The Following Members of the Crew don’t exactly operate on the Bridge as much as most of the ship.

The Night Guard is the security force of the Mining Guild as a result every member of the crew is a member of security. But acknowledging that some needs were as important as others, Tammo has chosen a select elite group to serve as security for the ship.

He is directly below the First officer, and the Captain of commander or chief, so he sometimes also assists them with administrative tasks.

A lieutenant is even more highly trained and higher-paid. A lieutenant acts as a middleman between higher command levels and lower-ranking levels. Also, a lieutenant may assist the higher levels of command with certain tasks as an assistant.
