Distinguishing Features: Jack is a strikingly handsome Nepleslian who takes great care of his body. However, upon close inspection of his head, one may notice scars where he had cybernetic brain surgery performed.

Personality: Jack Miller is a man's man: he's ballsy, fears nothing and possesses tremendous pride in himself, his crew and his country. Like all Nepleslians, he enjoys the finer things in life such as alcohol and sex, and is very relaxed when it comes to vices and his crew (as long as they don't interfere with the operation of the ship, no problem). In this sense, Jack is a very lenient captain. Morale is extremely important to him, and keeping his crew happy is paramount to a successful mission. Comraderie is encouraged, if not mandatory. This is a good thing, because complementing Jack's relaxed demeanor is the soul of an ambitious, fierce competitor. He will go to the depths of hell to complete his mission. He loves the honor and the reward that comes with performing above and beyond the call of duty. Jack is far from suicidal, however, and will, reluctantly, retreat if need be. It's advisable not to bother him when he fails unless you're looking for a fight.

Jack Miller was born on Nepleslia and lived his entire life in Funky City. Like most other citizens, he made a living working with the black market. However, Jack soon realized that, although the black market paid well, it didn't provide him with any glory. So when he turned 21, Jack joined the Nepleslian Army seeking fame and fortune. Jack's ambition defined him. He rocketed up the ranks, earning himself a captainship within 10 years. His desire to succeed in all things endeared him to his commanding officers, eventually gaining the attention of some of the higher ups within the Nepleslian Army. His hard work as finally paid off: he\'s now the captain of a ship. The next step is getting to greatness.

Jack's leadership ability is effective, but far from polished. Instead of fancy speeches and a heavy vocabulary, Jack's 'leadership' comes from his personality. He's down-to-earth and can be no-holds barred when necessary. He doesn't believe in hiding the truth from people and is a very straight-shooter. His openness and lack of hesitation in making decisions tends to earn the respect of others.

Jack is able to recognize ambush points, create effective combat strategies and tactics, and analyze intelligence information. He has a knack for guerrilla tactics and maneuvers learned from his earlier years in the army. He's familiar with space tactics and maneuvers as well as the capabilities of the ship under his command.

Jack grew up on Nepleslia, which means a close connection to crime. His association with the black market has helped him be able to identify many different types of illegal good and drugs. He can appraise items for their (black) market value. He is streetwise and knows how to survive and communicate on the streets (slang language, etc).

Jack is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in English. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Jack has cybernetic brain enhancements which assist him in a variety of ways. He has memory systems implanted to assist in the memorization and recalling of information. He can also have a photographic memory when he so chooses. The brain enhancements also allow Jack to quickly analyze information so that he can make quick decisions when under pressure (useful in combat).

Jack received hand-to-hand combat training and followed it up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor. Jack takes good care of his body and is in excellent physical shape. He also knows the basics of various sports, but is particularly good at traditional wrestling.

Jack is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to starship operations. He has basic knowledge in how to pilot the ship, use communication devices, operate the computer system etc. He has a very strong knowledge of the artificial intelligence on a starship and can utilize it to assist his operations on the ship, although this knowledge applies only to the application of the AI, not the repair of it. Jack knows the laws and history of Nepleslia and the Nepleslian Army.
